Re:    1) It’s a Girl!  2) FCY Fall Invite  3)  Team Suit Sale  4) SWHS practices begin next Tuesday  5) Upcoming dates  6)  Assorted Notes

1)    Coach Carissa and former Coach Dan are the proud new parents of a baby Girl! They named her Emlyn Rose. And she weighed 6Lbs 15oz.

We will have to scramble a little to cover Coach Carissa’s coaching spots but we will take care of it. Not sure when Coach Carissa will be back!

2)    (52) GBY swimmers are attending the FCY Fall Invite, this Friday-Sunday, November 2-4, at the Downtown Y in Appleton. (Map is on website).  I have not received any information regarding the meet from FCY yet.  They do have the meet on their website.  And I will post as much information as I have.  Read over the meet information.  I will be at the meet all weekend with Coach Bill assisting me on Saturday & Sunday. There are no practices this Friday or Saturday due to this meet. Also remember that FCY is running a Y Officials training on Saturday morning.  Information is on our website.

3)    Joe and Dave from Walter’s Swim Supplies will be here at the DT Y next Wednesday, November 7.  They will be set up in room 1D, from 5:30-8:00pm.  The order form is on the website on the event list.  Please check the website for more information.

4)    Next Tuesday, November 6, begins the first full day of GBY swim team practices.  Bronze 4-5pm, Silver/Gold III  5-6:30pm, and Gold 6:30-8:30pm.  The entrance to the pool is on the back corner of the building off of the parking lot.  There are bleachers to watch practices.  Please remember that we are guests of SWHS and need to respect their facilities.  If you arrive early for practices please either sit up in the balcony or down on the pool deck.  Do not hang out in the locker rooms or any other areas of the school.  Reminder to Gold parents.  Please be at SWHS no later than 8:40pm to pick up your swimmers.  They should have plenty of time to be ready to be picked up no later that 8:40pm.

Next Wednesday, also is the day of the practice change for the Gold Team. They will now practice Wednesday afternoons, from 4-6pm at SWHS pool.   The Silver Team will then have the entire pool for their practice at the DT Y, from 7:30-8:45pm.

6)    Assorted Notes

·         Please make sure to check team events regularly on the website to ensure that you are missing any deadlines.  WGLO and the Oshkosh Champion meet close Sunday night. As I process a meet entry all those lists, etc will appear on the website as will information regarding that meet as I receive it and can get it posted.

·         A few returning swimmers (who have been swimming) have not registered for the team.  You must do this today!  I am going to deactivate all unregistered swimmers, which will no longer give you access to the website.  Also if you are a new swimmer joining the team please make sure that you get your registration forms in too.  If there is a reason for the delay please let me know.  Thanks for handling this promptly.

·         We need volunteers to help with the water station for the Turkey Trot run on Thanksgiving morning.  The sign-up is open on the website.  Please give me names and t-shirt sizes. This can all be done under one swimmer.  Thanks for helping out.

·         Parent Group committee meetings have been moved to the first Mondays of the Month. Exception being December where we will move that meeting back to November 26 to meet before our December 1 Sprint Meet. These Parent Group Committee meetings are on the website calendar. Next meeting is Monday, November 5.

·         Still have a few families with escrow balances.  Please take care of these ASAP.  Remember no entering swim meets until the balance is taken care of.  And I would also ask that you have the monies in your account to cover the meet fees for upcoming meets since once a meet is charged you will be in the negative again.  Thank you for handling this promptly.

·         A reminder that all GBY swimmers ages 8&over must scan their membership upon entry to all Green Bay YMCA’s.  If you need a new card stop at the front desk and have them make you a new one.  It is very time consuming especially during the rush around team practices to have to stop and type in your information manually to make sure you are a member. Thank you for taking care of this matter.

·         REMINDER - All swimmers should be showering before using any pool for practices.  This can be a big help with the air quality.  Thank you for doing this.
