2013 Spring/Summer Practice Schedule  -  Classic Format

1)      Our Awards Banquet is this Friday night at the Riverside Ballroom. We have 211 people attending the banquet.  Social hour is from 5-6pm.  Dinner is served at 6pm.  After dinner we will do the awards and following the awards we will have a DJ playing until 11pm.   All Gold swimmers should be returning their Lowell Jorgenson ballots to Coach Dave by Thursday, May 9.  Should be a great evening for the team and families.  All GBY swimmers will be recognized for being on the team.  See you there.

2)      Marathon Water Station sign-ups are on the website.We still need many more volunteers to help at our water station for the Cellcom Marathon, Sunday AM, May 19.  I will take as many volunteers as we can.  All Gold swimmers should volunteer.  I will also take anyone age 12&over to volunteer too. Friends and other family members are welcome. Younger swimmers are welcome to volunteer but would appreciate that a parent volunteer with them.  All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and have access to all activities at the finish line area including food and drink.  Our water station is going to video taped this year for presentation to future water station volunteers as a demonstration on how we set up, run our station and then clean up afterwards.  This is a great compliment to all of us who have volunteered in the past for this fun event.  Please make sure that you sign-up by Sunday night, May 12. All volunteers will need to be at Marquette Park by 6am for set-up and training.  Runners will come through our station between about 7:09am – 7:45am.  Clean-up takes about a ½ hour and we should be completed by 8:15am.  I will try to get shirts handed out at practices next Wednesday-Friday or I will have all the remaining shirts at the water station sight.

3)      Tonight is the first night of Spring/Summer practices.  I will attach a classic version of the schedule and also all practices and events should be on the website calendar.  Reminder that there is no practice this Friday due to the Awards Banquet.

4)      All clinics will be charged to your escrow accounts this week.  I will also charge all banquet fees to your escrow account next week.  Please ensure that all families have ample monies in their accounts to cover these charges.

6)      Assorted Notes

·         Parent Group committee meetingshave been moved to the first Mondays of the Month. Next meeting is Monday June 3, 2013 at 5:30pm in the 2^nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.  We will not have Parent meetings in July of August so the next would be Sept 9, 2013.

·         There will be a Saturday morning Gold I & II workout at BV, from 6-8am.  We will also have Saturday AM practices May 11, 18 & 25.

·         Please take a look at the event calendar.  Entries are open for the Pabst Farms Meet, both FCY meets and our Friday Night 50’s meet.  Please make sure that you get entered by the deadline.

·         Gift baskets and Gift Cards are needed for our Friday Night 50’s meet.  We have drawings at the conclusion of our Friday Night 50’s meet and we need donations of “Themed” Gift Baskets and various gift cards that the swimmers in the meet would enjoy.  Please drop all items off for Coach Dave at the DT Y front desk beginning June 10.  Thanks for helping out and making this meet a great success.

·         GBY swim families have the opportunity to participate in a scrip program to help raise monies for your escrow accounts.  A power point presentation is posted on the website (under documents tab) to explain the whole program and to allow you to get involved with the Scrip program.  Thank you to the GBY Gymnastics Team for allowing us to join in with their program.
