1)      Dave is gone Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday and will have the assistant coaches covering all practices.  My wife and I rescheduled our camping trip for the next three days.  This is our last week of the spring calendar of practices.  Coach Bill will cover all my spots on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  I will be back for Friday afternoon practice and Saturday AM practice. Otherwise the kids will be in Great hands with the Coaching staff.

2)      For the Summer Season beginning Monday, June 10.  All Bronze swimmers age 9&over should move to the afternoon Silver practice group. If you do not think your swimmer is ready for the change they may stay in the Bronze group for the summer.  The afternoon Silver is the transitional group to prepare these swimmers for the Silver Practice group this fall.  Existing Silver swimmers are welcome to swim in the mornings at Colburn Park on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Tuesday and Friday morning practices in the Summer are only for Gold swimmers.   All Gold swimmers swim morning workouts in the summer.  I will also allow Gold I & II swimmers to attend a double workout in the afternoons in the summer.  They will start practicing at the same time as the afternoon Silver practice.  The Double workout is only for those swimmers that are attending all of the morning workouts.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

3)      Friday Night 50’s –The deadline for entry and signing up for a work assignment is Sunday night, June 9.  Please make sure that you get entered and signed up for a job by then.  Gift Baskets and Gift Cards – We also are in need of donations for Gift Baskets and Gift Cards for the Best Time raffle after the meet.  You may drop these Gift Baskets off beginning the week of June 10^th at the DT Y front desk.  Gift cards may be handed directly to Coach Dave.  More information later

4)      WGLO Meet –The entry is now opened for the WGLO Meet.  This closes Friday night, June 14.  Please remember that you must have qualifying times to enter into most events.  You also must be  USA registered swimmer to participate in this meet.  We are only swimming on Friday & Saturday.

6)      Assorted Notes

·         Parent Group committee meetingshave been moved to the first Mondays of the Month. Next meeting is Today, Monday June 3, 2013 at 5:30pm in the 2^nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.  We will not have Parent meetings in July of August so the next would be Sept 9, 2013.

·         Please take a look at the event calendar.  Entries are open for the WGLO Meet, FCY Birdbath Invite and our Friday Night 50’s meet.  The FCY Summer Invite entry is closed and posted on the web site.  Please make sure that you get entered by the deadline.

·         I have also been told that because of the lateness of the Birdbath Meet that Oshkosh will probably not be hosting their July 21 meet. And could not get any of kind of definitive answer from OSHY this weekend.  They are in a transition with their coach leaving.  I will keep you posted on this.

·         Gift baskets and Gift Cards are needed for our Friday Night 50’s meet.  We have drawings at the conclusion of our Friday Night 50’s meet and we need donations of “Themed” Gift Baskets and various gift cards that the swimmers in the meet would enjoy.  Please drop all items off for Coach Dave at the DT Y front desk beginning June 10.  Thanks for helping out and making this meet a great success.

·         GBY swim families have the opportunity to participate in a scrip program to help raise monies for your escrow accounts.  A power point presentation is posted on the website (under documents tab) to explain the whole program and to allow you to get involved with the Scrip program.  Thank you to the GBY Gymnastics Team for allowing us to join in with their program.

·         A reminder that all swim team members must scan their membership cards upon entry into our YMCA’s.  If you have lost your card ask the front desk and they can make a new one for you.

·         A reminder that all swim team members should be taking a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
