1)      Birdbath Entry – I Think we finally have the Birdbath Entry set up correctly.  FCY initially posted both an incorrect entry file and wrong meet information.  Both had mistakes.  It was discovered by a parent on our team about wrong events, thus the first correction was received.  Secondly, the meet info states that a swimmer may participate in 7 events but the corrected meet file only allowed for 6.  I changed this number in our Team Unify based on the meet information.  Well I have just heard back from FCY that it is only a max of 6 for the meet and there is where another correction had to be made.  They have told me send they will send out updated meet information.  I NEED EVERYONE TO CHECK THEIR ENTRY FOR THE BIRDBATH.  I am going to leave this entry open until Wednesday, June 26.  Sorry about all this confusion.  FCY was very sorry about this too.

2)      FCY Summer Classic – We have 49 GBY swimmers participating in the FCY Summer Classic at Erb Park this Saturday & Sunday, June 22 & 23.  I have not received the official warm-up times or warm-up assignments for the meet. Keep posted to FCY website for the most up to date info.  You will need to print your own heat sheets for the meet.  Remember that Saturday is prelim/final.  Top 16 swimmers will return in the evening to swim finals on Saturday night.  Please ensure that you check all final results to make sure that you know that you are to come back and swim in the finals.  I will be at the meet most of the weekend with Coach Kari helping me out. I do know that Saturday and Sunday AM warm-ups are from 7-8am but I do not have any assignments. Again I will publish the timeline, etc when I receive it from FCY.

3)      OSHY Meet, Sunday, July 21, 2013 – OSHY is going to run a meet on Sunday, July 21, 2013, and we will attend.  As soon as I receive the meet info and meet entry file I will open this entry.  Everyone will be e-mailed when the entry page is opened.

4)      Escrow – We have 39 families that have balanced owed to the YMCA for their escrow accounts.  Quite a few of these balances are getting pretty big.  Please take care of all escrow balances by the end of the month please.  Both the FCY Summer Classic and WGLO meet charges will also be added before the end of the month so please make sure that all families have ample monies to cover these costs.  Thank you for handling these matters promptly.

5)      12&under USA LC State Meet – This entry is now open.  Remember to participate in this meet you must be a USA registered swimmer and have made the qualifying times in the events that you enter.  For those only making one or two events they still have the bonus event or events. This page closes on Sunday, July 21.

6)      Swimmer’s Camp at Camp Uni – I did announce that we would try to have another swim team camp up at Camp Uni, Aug 19-21.  We cannot have this event unless we get some parents to help chaperone the campers.  We will need 4 female and 2 male parents to chaperone.  Please let me know ASAP if you can volunteer for the camp.  Of course there will be no charge for the chaperones.

8)      Assorted Notes

·         There will only a Friday morning workout this week due to the FCY Summer Invite. No Saturday.

·         Escrow – Please check your escrow account to see if you have  a balance and enough monies to cover any upcoming charges.  Thank you!

·         Colburn Park Practices– Please make sure that all swimmers are on the pool deck at 6:30am to set-up the pool. 

·         Parent Group committee meetingshave been moved to the first Mondays of the Month. Next meeting is Sept 9, 2013.

·         Please take a look at the event calendar.

·         GBY swim families have the opportunity to participate in a scrip program to help raise monies for your escrow accounts.  A power point presentation is posted on the website (under documents tab) to explain the whole program and to allow you to get involved with the Scrip program.  Thank you to the GBY Gymnastics Team for allowing us to join in with their program.

·         A reminder that all swim team members must scan their membership cards upon entry into our YMCA’s.  If you have lost your card ask the front desk and they can make a new one for you.

·         A reminder that all swim team members should be taking a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
