1)      The second week of practices are almost completed.  Thank you for the patience with Tryouts at practices.  The numbers at both Silver and Gold practices have been very good.  I have a wide range of abilities in both groups but should be able to accommodate all who tried out.  I will talk to a couple of our swimmers that are borderline but the lane breakdown for practices seem very workable. We will look closely at the Bronze practice group over the next few weeks to see if any other Bronze swimmers may be ready to move to Silver.

The final day to turn in registration forms is Thursday, October 31, 2013. - All the forms must be turned in together to Coach Dave or dropped off at the DT Y front desk for Coach Dave.  Incomplete registration forms will be returned.  All forms needed to register are under the documents tab on the website.  All forms can and should be typed in directly and then printed.  Please make sure that all forms that need to be signed are signed.  Remember to look over the concussion information with your swimmers before signing. 

2)      Sixteen GBY swimmers are attending the M&M Pentathlon at the Marinette HS Pool.  Our assigned warm-up time is from 8:30-9:05am.  Meet starts at 9:30am.   Please arrive early for the warm-up session. I will be at the meet all day

3)      GBY Meet & Greet -  I am inviting all GBY parents old & new to gather in the balcony of the DT Y pool next Wednesday, October 30^th at 7:15pm for a very quick and informal meet & greet of GBY Parents.  I am timing this Wednesday at 7:15pm so both parents of Bronze swimmers (6:30-7:30pm practice) can get a chance to me our older GBY Parents of Silver and Gold swimmers (7:30-8:50pm practice).  I would not image that this will take a long time.  Just really want to get some quick introductions of all of our families.  Please try to attend. 

4)      This sign-up is now open on the website forThe Parent Group Sub-committee.  A parent from each family should sign-up for a sub-committee.  The Parent Group member overseeing this sub-committee will contact you sometime in the near future. Early November at the latest.  The sub-committees are as follows  1) Meet Equipment Committee  2)  Meet Committee  3)  Meet  Food Service Committee  4)  Social/New Parent Committee  5)  Financial/Fundraising Committee  6)  Marketing Committee  7)  Recognition/Awards Banquet Committee  8)  Senior/National Team Committee. 

5)      We are still in need of three parents to join the Parent Group Committee.  Please contact me if interested.  A parent is needed to oversee the Food Service Committee,  Marketing Committee, and Senior/National Team Committee.

6)      The sign-up for the Turkey Trot water station is opened.  Thanksgiving morning. Time for this should be from about 7-9am.  I need names and t-shirt sizes for the sign-up.  This is on the events list.  All swimmers and their parents and other family members are welcome to help out.  Thanks for helping with this event.

·         The practice schedule should be up to date on the website.  Dryland workouts are added to the calendar. Gold dryland swimmers should wear running gear.  There will be only Friday afternoon this week for all Gold swimmers.  No Saturday AM practice.

·         GBY Apparel order forms are on the website under the document tab/Odds & Ends. This form with payment is due to Coach Dave by Thursday, October 31.

·         The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, November 11, 2013.  All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the 2^nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.

·         Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA

·         Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.

·         Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program.  If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program.  Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.

·         Many meet entries are already opened.  Please make sure that you get entered into meets by the deadline.

·         Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts.  A swimmer will not be entered in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts.  All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website.
