1)      All registration forms are due by tomorrow, Thursday, October 31.  Please have all completed forms returned to Coach Dave by tomorrow.  You may hand these directly to myself or Coach Carissa or hand them off at the DT Y front desk to put in my mailbox.

All the forms must be turned in.  Incomplete registration forms will be returned.  All forms needed to register are under the documents tab on the website.  All forms can and should be typed in directly and then printed.  Please make sure that all forms that need to be signed are signed.  Remember to look over the concussion information with your swimmers before signing. 

2)      Forty Six GBY swimmers are participating in the FCY Fall Invite.  Friday warm-ups are from 5-6pm. Saturday & Sunday AM warm-ups start at 7:00am, meet starts at 8:05am.  Afternoon session warm-ups start at 11am.  Please arrive early for warm-ups so that we can all start together on time.  FCY will post the heat sheets on their website under the Hosted Meets tab.  I will also add them to our website when I get them.  I will be at the meet all weekend. Assisted by Coach Kari on Saturday, and Coach Sean on Sunday.

3)      GBY Meet & Greet is tonight, 7:15pm in the DT Y Pool Balcony -           I am inviting all GBY parents old & new to gather in the balcony of the DT Y pool tonight, Wednesday, October 30^th at 7:15pm for a very quick and informal meet & greet of GBY Parents.  I am timing this Wednesday at 7:15pm so both parents of Bronze swimmers (6:30-7:30pm practice) can get a chance to meet our older GBY Parents of Silver and Gold swimmers (7:30-8:50pm practice).  I would not image that this will take a long time.  Just really want to get some quick introductions of all of our families.  Please try to attend. 

4)      This sign-up is now open on the website forThe Parent Group Sub-committee.  A parent from each family should sign-up for a sub-committee.  The Parent Group member overseeing this sub-committee will contact you sometime in the near future. Early November at the latest.  The sub-committees are as follows  1) Meet Equipment Committee  2)  Meet Committee  3)  Meet  Food Service Committee  4)  Social/New Parent Committee  5)  Financial/Fundraising Committee  6)  Marketing Committee  7)  Recognition/Awards Banquet Committee  8)  Senior/National Team Committee. 

5)      We are still in need of three parents to join the Parent Group Committee.  Please contact me if interested.  A parent is needed to oversee the Food Service Committee,  Marketing Committee, and Senior/National Team Committee.

6)      The sign-up for the Turkey Trot water station is opened.  Thanksgiving morning. Time for this should be from about 7-9am.  I need names and t-shirt sizes for the sign-up.  This is on the events list.  All swimmers and their parents and other family members are welcome to help out.  Thanks for helping with this event.

7)      Team Suit Sale – Wednesday night, November 6, 5:45-8:00p, room 1D – Joe from Walter’s Swim Supplies will be here next week for our annual team suit sale.  Team suits, bags, warm-ups, etc may be purchased or ordered from Walter’s.  Walter’s will also have a huge inventory of goggles for sale as well as practices suits.  The price and order form are under the Documents tab/odds&ends on the website.

9)      Assorted Notes

·        The practice schedule should be up to date on the website.  Dryland workouts are added to the calendar. Gold dryland swimmers should wear running gear. Gold dryland will meet in the BV Raquetball court at 6pm on Monday and 6:15pm on Thursday There will be a Friday afternoon this week for all Gold swimmers with Coach Bill.  No Saturday AM practice due to the FCY meet. There will be Friday and Saturday AM practices for the next two weekends but neither on November 22 & 23 or November 29 & 30.  No practices also on Thanksgiving Day.  We will hold all practice on Halloween Day.

·        GBY Apparel order forms are on the website under the document tab/Odds & Ends. This form with payment is due to Coach Dave by Thursday, October 31. Lynn Anderson will be at the DT Y Meet & Greet tonight with apparel samples and order forms.

·        The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, November 11, 2013.  All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the 2^nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.

·        Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA

·        Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.

·        Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program.  If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program.  Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.

·        Many meet entries are already opened.  Please make sure that you get entered into meets by the deadline.

·        Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts.  A swimmer will not be entered in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts.  All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website.
