- Y Finalist Meet - 32 GBY Swimmers will be attending this weekend’s Schroeder Y Finalist Meet on Friday-Sunday, December 13-15, at the Schroeder Aquatic Center. Please refer to Schroeder’s website for all information. I have posted the warm-up times on our webpage for this meet. I will attend the meet all weekend. Please arrive early for all scheduled warm-up times
2) Holiday Relays – Next Wednesday, December 18 are the GBY Holiday Relays. All GBY swimmers should arrive on deck at 6:30pm. These should conclude about 8:15pm. There are no practices that evening. All GBY team members are encouraged to attend. And families are welcome to come and watch. Lot’s of fun!!
- GBY Bowling Night, Monday, December 30, 2013, 6-8pm. The Gutter Bowling Alley, 2310 Lineville Road, in Howard. Cost will be $9.00 per person. This $9.00 includes shoe rental and unlimited bowling between 6-8pm. Because of new management at the Bowling Alley, there will be no food or drink included in our package. But food and drink are available at the Bowling Alley. Sign-up is on the website. All GBY swimmers and families are invited to participate. Sign-up deadline is Sunday night, December 22. This will be charge to your escrow account.
- Green Bay Y Annual Campaign Calling Night (Wednesday, February 5) & GBY Swim-A-Long (Wednesday, February 12) – I will be sending out a news item about these two events. Our 2014 Annual Campaign kicks off in February. I will need parent volunteers to help make some phone calls on calling night. For Swim-A-Long GBY swimmers will receive their pledge envelopes in early January. Thank you everyone for your continual support of the Green Bay Y and it’s annual campaign. Look for a nice explanation and more information soon that I will send out through the website

- There will be a Friday afternoon this week. Coach Bill will be running this practice. No Saturday AM. There will be Friday AM next week but no Saturday AM due to the DCY Jingle Bell Meet.
- DCY Jingle Bell Meet – I will be sending an updated entry into DCY on Monday with updated times from the Y Finalist Meet. If there is anyone else who would like to enter I have opened the entry page up until Sunday night, December 15.
- Personalized Caps – We have 45 caps ordered but need 48. Please order them now on the website so we can get this order in.
- Titletown Freeze T-shirts - There will be a pre-order of 2014 Titletown T-shirts on the website soon. We must have this in by next Wednesday. The pre-order cost is $10.00 and $12.00 for XXL & XXXL. If you wait to buy one at the meet it will be $2.00 more.
- January Meets entries opened soon - I will be opening up the entry pages for the Oshkosh Mid-Winter Meet, GBY Titletown Freeze (and job sign-up), & Schroeder A+. I have not gotten anything yet from DCY for their January but will get that opened when I receive it.
- Holiday Practice schedule – I have updated the Calendar for the holiday schedule (December 23 – January 1)
- The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, January 6. All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the 2nd floor lobby area of the DT Y. Parent Group committee members are Lynn Anderson – Facilitator, Jill Zablocki – Meet Director, Annjie and Mark Nowak – Food Service, Bob Howe & Amy Wolf – Equipment, Tim Van Gheem – Financial, Heidi Neverman – Awards Banquet & Recognition, Scott & Heidi Socha – Social & New Family, Jeff & Beth Gahnz - Marketing, Open – Senior/National Team.
- Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA
- Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
- Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program. If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program. Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.
- Many meet entries are already opened. Please make sure that you get entered into meets by the deadline.
- Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts. A swimmer will not be allowed to enter in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. The website is set up to make sure that you have monies in your account when you enter a meet. All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts. Please do not wait until it is too late to get money into your account. All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website.
