  1. DCY Hawaiian Meet  -  Forty Seven GBY swimmers are entered in the meet.  When I receive the heat sheet I will post it on our website.  Also will post warm-up info when I receive it.  Warm-ups are scheduled from 7:45-8:45am, with meet starting at 9am.  Coach Carissa, Coach Kari  and I will be at the meet.
  2. GBY Titletown Freeze -  The entry page closes on Sunday night, January 12. Please make sure that you get entered by the deadline.  The Parent committee has also reopened the Meet T-shirt pre-order and will make the shirts pre-ordered still at a discounted price.  Deadline for pre-ordering shirt is next Wednesday, January 15.  As more info regarding the meet becomes available I will post it on the website.  Thanks for everyone’s help with making this meet a success. The heat sheets will be posted next Wednesday afternoon.

Please read the note below from our meet director regarding job sign-ups.

The job sign-up for Titletown Freeze has been added to the website.  If you have not signed up to work the home meet on January 17-19 please do so soon.  Note the deadline to sign up to swim and work is this Sunday, January 12.  As a reminder, our worker requirement is that you provide at least one worker for each session that you have a swimmer entered.  Failure to do so results in being charged double entry fees--and we really need all who are able to work the meet.  We do appreciate all families who work the meet and especially thank those that are able to provide more than one worker in a session, as we would not be able to staff our meets properly if everyone stuck to the minimum worker requirement.  If you do not sign up by January 12 to work the meet, someone from the meet committee will contact you.  It is much easier for us if you sign up on your own.  Thank you to everyone in advance for your help!  We look forward to a great Titletown Freeze Meet!

Any questions can be directed to Jill Zablocki.  [email protected]

  1. GBY Team Picture – We will take a team picture on Swim-A-Long night at 6pm in the large gym at the DT Y.  All GBY swimmers must be there.  All GBY swimmers should wear their team suits.  This is begin done during our down time of the Swim-A-Long.  The Gold Team swims prior and the Bronze & Silver swim afterwards.  Also to plan ahead the DT Y Staff will be selling Chili on Wednesday evening during our Swim-A-Long
  2. Weather Updates/E-mail Alerts, etc – Thank you for everyone’s patience with the weather situation.  Just a reminder on a few items related to weather and cancellations.  First of all the Y’s rarely ever close for weather.  Thus all Y programs including swim team will always run if the Y’s remain open.  If the Y’s do close I will alert the team by e-mail.  The other situation we deal with is the SWHS & the Green Bay Public Schools.  Like Tuesday when school was closed all after school programs get cancelled including pool rentals.  And as with this past Tuesday’s cancelled practices you will be notified by e-mail.  Now in a very rare incidence like today.  The School is allowing after school programs to run.  And I did notify everyone of a cancellation but updated that later after Green Bay Park & Rec notified me that we could still practice today at SWHS.  Again all were alerted by e-mail about this. AND YES THERE IS GOLD PRACTICE TODAY AT SWHS, from 4-6pm as scheduled.  And if any other type reason arises for a cancellation  or change you will be notified by mail.  (Pool breakdowns, contaminations, etc). Thus it is imperative that you regularly check your e-mail or e-mails.  On your account page you can list as many e-mail addresses that you want and all will receive everything that I send out to the team.  Thus it may be helpful for families to put both work and home e-mails as well as swimmers e-mails too.  This will hopefully ensure that all GBY team members will receive my notifications and other items that I send out through the website.  Apologies to those who did go to SWHS yesterday and sorry you missed my note I sent.

I would also ask that on all away swim meets that before trying to find out things, you wait for me to post information about the meets.  I get a lot of people that contact myself or the Y asking about meets, etc.  I always keep the website as up to date as possible with what I know.  And if I don’t know I will even try to keep you posted with what I do not know either.  And if I do not know then it is because I have not gotten the information yet.   Thank you!

  1. Green Bay Y Annual Campaign Calling Night (Wednesday, February 5) & GBY Swim-A-Long (Wednesday, February 12) -  Thank you to the 9 parents and swimmers who are going to help out on our calling team.  You will all received additional information from the Y.  But plan to be at the DT Y Large Gym at 5:30pm – 8:00pm on February 5.

I will begin to hand out Swim-A-Long pledge envelopes very soon.  I would ask that everyone please take a look at the website page regarding the Swim-A-Long.  I have a great informational piece there regarding the Annual Campaign and Swim-A-Long.   Thank you very much for your support of strong kids.

The website is set up to make sure that you have monies in your account when you enter a meet.  All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts. Please do not wait until it is too late to get money into your account.  All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website. And please keep ample monies in your escrow account to cover all upcoming charges.  All meet entry fee charges are done on the Monday following the meet.   If by chance you cannot enter a meet because of your escrow account. E-mail Coach Dave with your swimmer’s entry numbers and I will get them into the meet.
