- Schroeder A+ - Sixteen GBY swimmers are participating in the Schroeder A+, this Friday-Sunday, January 31 – February 2. All warm-up and start times are posted on the website. I have a link to Schroeder’s website where you may print all the heat sheets. I will be at this meet all weekend.
- Yooper Invite - Eighteen GBY swimmers are participating in the Yooper Invite, this Saturday, February 1. Warm-up time is 7:45pm EST. Which means 6:45pm our time. Meet starts at 9:30am. Coach Kris will be at this meet. I did put a map on the website for the Northern Lights YMCA.
- GBY Team Picture – We will take a team picture on Swim-A-Long night at 6pm in the large gym at the DT Y. All GBY swimmers must be there. All GBY swimmers should wear their team suits. This is begin done during our down time of the Swim-A-Long. The Gold Team swims prior and the Bronze & Silver swim afterwards. Also to plan ahead the DT Y Staff will be selling Chili on Wednesday evening during our Swim-A-Long
- GBY Swim-A-Long (Wednesday, February 12) - I hope are swimmers are doing well with their pledges for this event. Parents please remind your kids to get out and get some pledges. Please take a look at the website page regarding the Swim-A-Long. I have a great informational piece there regarding the Annual Campaign and Swim-A-Long. Thank you very much for your support of our Annual Campaign and the Swim-A-Long.

- There will be no Friday AM, Friday afternoon or Saturday AM practices this week due to the swim meets.
- Green Bay Y Annual Campaign Calling Night (Wednesday, February 5) - Thank you to the 10 parents and swimmers who are going to help out on our calling team. You should have received some additional information from the Y. But plan to be at the DT Y Large Gym at 5:30pm – 8:00pm on February 5. Due to the calling night Gold Team will have their practice with the Silver Team at the DT Y from 7:30-8:45pm.
- Titletown Freeze T-shirts - We have some leftover Youth Med & Larges, and Adult Med & Large meet shirts. They can be purchased for $8.00. Contact Lynn Anderson directly at [email protected] if you would like to get one or more.
- Upcoming Meets – I have opened the Oshkosh Y/FCY meet entry. Because it is due at Noon on a Monday I moved back the entry deadline to Saturday, Feb 1. They have not posted any information for the USA Regional meet nor the USA State Meets. As soon as they do I will get those up and opened on the website.
- The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, February 3, 2014. All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the 2nd floor lobby area of the DT Y. Parent Group committee members are Lynn Anderson – Facilitator, Jill Zablocki – Meet Director, Annjie and Mark Nowak – Food Service, Bob Howe & Amy Wolf – Equipment, Tim Van Gheem – Financial, Heidi Neverman – Awards Banquet & Recognition, Scott & Heidi Socha – Social & New Family, Jeff & Beth Gahnz - Marketing, Open – Senior/National Team.
- Weather Updates/E-mail Alerts,etc – Thank you for everyone’s patience with the weather situation. Just a reminder on a few items related to weather and cancellations. First of all the Y’s rarely ever close for weather. Thus all Y programs including swim team will always run if the Y’s remain open. If the Y’s do close I will alert the team by e-mail. The other situation we deal with is the SWHS & the Green Bay Public Schools. Like Tuesday when school was closed all after school programs get cancelled including pool rentals. I will notify the team ASAP with any cancellations.
- Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA
- Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
- Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program. If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program. Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.
- Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts. A swimmer will not be allowed to enter in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. The website is set up to make sure that you have monies in your account when you enter a meet. All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts. Please do not wait until it is too late to get money into your account. All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website. And please keep ample monies in your escrow account to cover all upcoming charges. All meet entry fee charges are done on the Monday following the meet. If by chance you cannot enter a meet because of your escrow account. E-mail Coach Dave with your swimmer’s entry numbers by the entry deadline date and I will get them into the meet.
