1. TONIGHT - GBY Team Picture – We will take a team picture on Swim-A-Long night at 6pm in the large gym at the DT Y.  All GBY swimmers must be there.  All GBY swimmers should wear their team suits.  The picture is going to be taken during our down time of the Swim-A-Long.  All GBY swimmers will receive this team photo in their awards night envelope.  I will also make the file available to all families if they would like to do something with it also.
2. TONIGHT - GBY Swim-A-Long & Team Picture (Wednesday, February 12) – Tonight is the Swim-A-Long at the DT Y Pool.  All GBY swimmers should bring their envelopes with them onto the pool deck.  We will have people there to collect them.  All swimmers will receive their custom GBY cap to wear for their swim-a-long.  Gold I, II & III will swim from 3:45-5:40pm.  The Bronze and Silver will swim from 6:30-8:00pm.  The DT Y staff will be having a chili sale thist evening.  The Swim Team Parent Committee will also have cake for everyone.  Families are encouraged to attend to watch or to help count lengths for their kids. Please take a look at the website page regarding the Swim-A-Long.  I have a great informational piece there regarding the Annual Campaign and Swim-A-Long.   Thank you very much for your support of our Annual Campaign and the Swim-A-Long. If you missed the Swim-A-Long this evening you may turn your envelope into Coach Dave anytime or drop off at the DT Y front desk.  I will make sure that you get your swim cap.
3. Y Nationals (April 1-4, Greensboro, NC) –   I have opened up the entry page for the Y National Meet and the Time Trials there.  We only have two swimmers qualified so far.  I would ask those swimmers to go into the website and commit themselves to attend.  I have not gotten a plane ticket yet and want to insure that swimmers are going to attend before I take care of buying my ticket.  I will plan to arrive on Sunday, March 30, with a workout that evening.  We will use Monday for workouts and team registration.  The meet runs Tuesday-Friday.  Families attending should make their own arrangements for getting to the meet and hotel.

1. Assorted Notes

• There will be a Friday AM, Friday afternoon and Saturday AM workout this week. 
• Green Bay Y Annual Campaign Calling Team Update - Thank you to the 14 parents and swimmers who are helping out with our calling team tonight.  Please continue to work your cards and get them turned into Coach Dave by March 14^th.
• Y State & USA State T-shirts – There is a webpage opened up for swimmers and parents to order shirts for the USA State Meets.  All swimmers participating in the Y State Meet will receive a team shirt from the parent committee for Y State.  Anyone may order either style shirt right now to have by the USA State Meets.  See the webpage.
• Titletown Freeze T-shirts  -  We have some leftover Youth Med & Larges, and Adult Med & Large meet shirts.  They can be purchased for $8.00.  Contact Lynn Anderson directly at [email protected] if you would like to get one or more.

• Upcoming Meets – Entry closes for the USA Regional Meet this Sunday night.  I have opened up both USA State Meets for entries.  These will close Sunday, February 23.  As soon as I receive the information from FCY and Oshkosh I will open those entries up.  Also should have Y State entry available soon. Have posted the Y State Meet information on the website.
• The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, March 3, 2014.  All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the 2^nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.  Parent Group committee members are Lynn Anderson – Facilitator, Jill Zablocki – Meet Director, Annjie and Mark Nowak – Food Service, Bob Howe & Amy Wolf – Equipment, Tim Van Gheem – Financial, Heidi Neverman – Awards Banquet & Recognition, Scott & Heidi Socha – Social & New Family,  Jeff & Beth Gahnz -  Marketing, Pat Stoa – Senior/National Team.
• Weather Updates/E-mail Alerts,etc – Thank you for everyone’s patience with the weather situation.  Just a reminder on a few items related to weather and cancellations.  First of all the Y’s rarely ever close for weather.  Thus all Y programs including swim team will always run if the Y’s remain open.  If the Y’s do close I will alert the team by e-mail.  The other situation we deal with is the SWHS & the Green Bay Public Schools.  Like Tuesday when school was closed all after school programs get cancelled including pool rentals.  I will notify the team ASAP with any cancellations.
• Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA
• Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
• Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program.  If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program.  Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.
• Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts.  A swimmer will not be allowed to enter in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. The website is set up to make sure that you have monies in your account when you enter a meet.  All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts. Please do not wait until it is too late to get money into your account.  All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website. And please keep ample monies in your escrow account to cover all upcoming charges.  All meet entry fee charges are done on the Monday following the meet.   If by chance you cannot enter a meet because of your escrow account. E-mail Coach Dave with your swimmer’s entry numbers by the entry deadline date and I will get them into the meet.
