1. Thank you to those parents and swimmers that attended last night’s Green Bay City Council Meeting.  The council did approve the design for the pool.  But there are still some more steps to the process.  These next two meetings, October 15, & October 21, are very important meetings, regarding how the new pool is going to be paid for.  The October 15^th meeting is where the Park & Rec Commission will talk about how it is going to be paid for.  That meeting is in Room 207 of City Hall (100 N Jefferson St), at 5:30pm.  The Second meeting is October 21^th . This is the meeting where the City Council will debate and hopefully approve the financing ideas for the pool.  This meeting is in the City Council Chambers, at 7pm at City Hall.   Both of these meetings are very important to a New Colburn Park Pool.  Of course both nights conflict with practices and I will not be able to attend.  But if any parents could attend that would be fantastic.

1. Practices for the 2014-2015 Season begin on Monday.  Please check the calendar for practice times.  If swimmers are trying new practice groups for this season I will let them know ASAP if they are able to stay in the new group or should swim in their old group.  I would also invite the parents of these swimmers to come and watch practices so you may see how your swimmer is handling the new practice groups.  Monday & Thursday practices are the most challenging workouts.  These would be the days to watch your swimmers.  Please do not turn in your registration forms until we have placed your swimmer in the correct practice group.

1. For all returning GBY swimmers registration forms are due by October 17.  All forms are posted on the website.   All the forms must be turned in together or I will not accept them.  All forms are listed below that must be filled out and turned in.  A correction on Sub-committee Sign-ups.  You actually have to sign up for these committees on the website.  This is opened and you can begin signing up now.  The forms in the registration packet still need to be read over, signed and turned in with your packet.

1. Assorted Notes

• Remember that beginning Tuesday, October 14 that practices for all Groups will begin at Edison Middle School. (See Calendar)
• Make sure you are checking deadline dates for meet entries and other team events. – Please check the website as often as possible to keep up with meet entry deadlines and deadlines for other team events
• The Next Parent Group Committee is Monday night, November 3.  All Parent Group Committees are held from 5:30-7:00pm, in the ^2nd floor lobby area of the DT Y.  Parent Group committee members are Lynn Anderson – Facilitator, Jill Zablocki – Meet Director, Annjie and Mark Nowak – Food Service, Bob Howe & Amy Wolf – Equipment, Tim Van Gheem – Financial, Heidi Neverman – Awards Banquet & Recognition, Scott & Heidi Socha – Social & New Family,  Jeff & Beth Gahnz -  Marketing, Pat Stoa – Senior/National Team.
• Please remember to scan your membership cards when entering any YMCA
• Please remember to take a soap shower before entering any YMCA pool.
• Please remember that the GBY swim team is a part of the GBY Gymnastics Scrip program.  If any family is interested in earning some extra money for their escrow accounts should check out the Scrip program.  Scrip information is under the documents tab on the web site.
• Please ensure that you keep ample monies in your escrow accounts.  A swimmer will not be allowed to enter in a meet unless they have the monies in their escrow account to cover the meet fees. The website is set up to make sure that you have monies in your account when you enter a meet.  All escrow fees may be paid at the DT Y front desk, or by calling the DT Y front desk to pay by phone. Thank you to everyone for keeping up with your escrow accounts. Please do not wait until it is too late to get money into your account.  All information for your escrow account may be found under your account page on the website.
