Team News
Hello GBY Swim Team,
I hope you’re enjoying the last few weeks of summer.
Announcements
- We will not have swim team practices on Monday September 5th. The Y is closed due to the Labor Day holiday.
- Alex Sorlin and Abby Reckinger will be joining the swim team as mental performance consultant interns from the Sport, Exercise, and Performance Psychology Master's Program at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. This is a unique opportunity for our swim team, and I am very excited to welcome Alex and Abby.
- Parents are invited to join Alex, Abby, and Coach G on Thursday, September 8th from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Ferguson YMCA Board Conference Room or virtually, via Zoom, for an informational session about the importance of mental performance skills and how they can help your athlete in sport and life. Alex and Abby will share mental performance skills and topics that potentially will be taught or delivered to the team and individual swimmers. There will be time for parents to ask any questions they might have about mental performance consulting. All athletes need an informed consent form on file, signed by parents/guardians, before the team and individual swimmers can receive any services with Alex and/or Abby. The forms can be reviewed and signed at the meeting and will be sent home with athletes for those unable to attend. We hope to see you there!

- We continue to add value and opportunity for our swimmers, and the cost of swim team tuition has recently increased as a result. We are focused on developing our swimmers in mind, body, and spirit. Our value proposition is trailblazing in the competitive swimming space. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such talented swimmers and coaches. We are working diligently to create a best-in-class experience for all of our swimmers.
- Our expanded offerings include: mental performance coaching with UWGB, enhanced dry land programs tailored to each level, and mindfulness practice to develop awareness of the present moment, sharpening focus and attention.
- We continue to look for innovative opportunities to promote growth and development of our program, and each individual.
