News Letter 5/5/23
Happy Friday Everyone! I am Coach Kayla the new head swim coach of the GBY! I am so excited to be here and work with everyone on the team.
This is our weekly news letter where I will highlight swimmer achievments as well as high light our coaches and some big news on the team.
As a team we are preparing for our long course season! This is a great chance to get swimmers used to swimming in different settings as well as a way for swimmers to get to experiece swimming in a long course setting! We are going to have an awesome summer! For the month of May we will be working hard during practice, building our technique as well as our stamina for the season.
Some things to note our first swim meet of the season will be June 2-4 The Pirate Plunge at Scheorder YMCA in Milwaukee, as well as coming up on our schedule is our Friday Night 50s HOMEMEET! We need volunteers for timing, set up, concessions as well as officiating! If you are at all interested in signing up please feel free to contact me at [email protected]! Anyone who would like to help is more than welcome.
In other News I would like to highlight our very own coach Max Stafford is graduating from UWGB with his Bachelors in Science with an emphisis in animal biology. Max also has accepted The Chancellor's Leadership Medallion. These are awesome achievments so if you see coach Max please feel free to congratulate him!
This is also our last week working with our amazing sports psychologists Abby and Alex, they will be graduating from UWGB as well, on behalf of the GBY swim team I would like to thank them for their dedication to the team and congratulate them in their accomplishments!
