Mighty Marlins “Start” something in Federal Way this weekend at the Washington Open. (Note the pictures!!) What they started was reaching high levels of competition and doing quite well. 55 teams from 8 different states sent their best swimmers to the meet. In nearly every event they swam, Marlins had best times and vastly improved their placing. Jacob Christy swam his way into the finals in the 200-fly taking 19th overall. Mighty Marlins Swimmers had huge time drops at the Washington State Senior Championships in Federal Way this weekend. Jacob Christy led the way with time drops in all 6 of his races. Highlighted by a very fast 1:58.00 in the 200 butterfly, in which he narrowly missed finals, moving up from his seed placing of 31st to 27th. Hallie Higgins led the way for the Mighty Marlins at the Fall Divisional Meet in Snohomish. She won all 3 of her events and qualified for PNS Champs with a great swim in the 200 fly! Every Mighty Marlin swimmer scored one or more ribbons, for a top 8 finish, at the Age Group Invite at Kamiak High School! Alora de Vera and Gavin Plano each had 5 top 8 finishes. Gavin scored a 2nd, 2-5ths, a 7th, and an 8th. Alora had 3-5ths and 2-8ths. Evie Azarpay scored a 6th and 2-7ths.
