For only the second time in Marlin History the club returned from Federal Way with a top 10 finish taking10th overall. the team was led by Morgan Ginnis who was a perfect 6 for 6 winning all of her individual events in impressive fashion. Trevor and Jennifer represented the Mighty Marlins proudly as they swam against the fastest 18 year old and younger swimmers in the USA. Trevor swam the 400 IM placing 36th with a best time of 4:08.63. He also swam the 200 IM earning 51st and was 45th in the 200 fly with a very impressive 1:55.58 clocking. Bindi Pedersen won the 8& under girls age group setting the tone for the older Marlin girls who nearly swept all the trophies for overall winners. Jensen Corbett took the 9 year olds trophy, Christina Domanowski won for the 10 year olds. Micki McDonough was the 13 year old champ, and Karoline Schaufler was first for the 15 & over girls. Marlin Swimmers continued to drop times in event after event at the Age Group Invite at Kamiak. Abby Magee made her first ever PNS time in the100 butterfly and set the tone as many other Marlins added to their impressive resume of Pacific Northwest Swimming Association Championship events. Serena Corbett, Spencer Girard, Rachel Hartmeyer, Jewel LeValley, Madison Rossnagle, Bindi Pedersen, and Hannah Vincelette all added PNS Qualified swims. It is going to be quite a meet in 2 weeks at PNS Champs!
Karoline, fresh off her trip to Girls High School State, swam2 best times and won 3 events at this years Q-Meet. Her victories were in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke and in the 200 IM. She also took second in the 100 butterfly. Erin Delaney also had a great meet achieving her first ever Gold time. Other Marlins with best times included: Jacob Blomberg, LJ Bowden, Ava Commissariat, Kelly Johnson, Abby Magee, Micki McDonough, Leah Taylor, and Walker Burch.
Josh Estella, Bindi Pedersen, and Rachel Hartmeyer all won the overall Championship in their age group, at the prestigious Chinook Pentathlon in Mercer Island! Christina Domanowski also earned a trophy for 3rd overall, and Abby Magee was 4th.
Many Marlins imroved their times at the Salmon Bay Senior Meet, but the most impressive swim of the weekend was turned in by Jennifer Domanowski in the 200 yard butterfly. She easily won beating Olympic Trials swimmer Katie Kinnear. More importantly her time of 2:04.18 bettered the Nationals time standard of 2:05.09. Congratulations Jenny you have taken the Marlin's to a new level of swimming!
