The incredible Marlins swam a plethora of lengths in our Swim-A-Thon on Monday June 29th.  This annual event helps raise funds to offset operating costs and to buy equipment that the Marlin swimmers use to improve their swimming skills! More importantly many Marlins realized that they can swim many lengths and that their potential is limitless.  I think many parents realized it as well! Look for the number of lengths your child swam on the Marlin board at the pool! Way to go Marlins!!

Christina Domanowski, Morgan Ginnis, and Hannah Peseau all won the high point award for scoring the most points in all their events combined at the West Coast Invitational.  Christina won all 6 of her events on route to her overall title.  Morgan scored 3 firsts, 2 thirds, and 3 fifths totaling 134 points.  Hannah scored well in a variety of events with 2 thirds, a fourth, 2 fifths, a 6th, 7th, 9th and 10th, for 116 points. Another feature of the meet was the fine design challenge testing the...

The Marlins have come a long way in the 5+ years since their inception!  However, having someone qualify for the US Open (The highest level meet of the Summer) seemed impossible until the Medal Mania Meet.  Jennifer Domanowski had been frustrated having just missed the Jr. National qualifying time of 2:19.69 in the 200 meter fly with a 2:19.95.  She hoped to get the time at the Medal Mania Meet but had no designs on the US Open Time.  She swam an incredible 2:16.78 which bettered the US Open standard of 2:16.89.  To give you...

Hey Marlins,         This is your NWAC next door neighbor whose wife Sally cooked all of the Filipino food for you all and thoroughly enjoyed your company over the last few days.  Besides feeling exhausted from the long road trip home, all is well on "The Rock" in Oak Harbor.  The reason I am writing to you all is to pass on some personal observations and thanks for just being good people to some of the arch rival enemies (I am kidding by the way).  As my wife and I...

We have attended the Apple Capital Meet for many years, and it has always been with a mind on team bonding as well as swimming.  In 2009 however we accomplished what we never have in the past, we made the top 3, taking third, and winning a beautiful trophy (which we have yet to see).  In a tough 15 team field the Marlins bested everyone except Bellevue Club and Issaquah.  Christina was a high point award winner and we believe we had others but we have yet to see the...

Jennifer Domanowski was first overall for 15-16 year old girls.  Trevor was tops for 17 and over boys and Hannah Taylor was the number 1 13-14 year old.  Oliver and Morgan each took 2nd in their age groups overall. In this early season long course meet the Marlins swam exceptionally well.  Hannah Peseau and Jennifer each qualified for Spring USA Nationals.  Hannah Taylor and Morgan Ginnis made Junior National times.  The Marlins set a multitude of team records at this meet and dominated the field!  Christina Domanowski again put herself...

Although it was a small group they swam very well.  Jensen and Serena Corbett each scored top 6 finishes in multiple events, and Leah Taylor took 2nd 4 times.  Burch and Shelby scared the other teams with their massive muscles!

Christina Domanowski broke the PNS Record in the 200 meter freestyle at the NWAC Triple Pentathlon.  Her time of 2:27.51 broke the 2 year old record of our own Morgan Ginnis.  Way to go Christina.  Many other Marlins at the meet won awards for winning their daily pentathlon or the overall, awe inspiring, 15 event Triple Pentathlon!

Six Marlins placed in the top 8 at the Long Course meet earning medals:  Morgan Ginnis had 4-1sts, 1-2nd, 2-3rds, and 1-8th;  Oliver Durand scored a 2nd, 2-5ths, 2-6ths, and 3-8ths;  Spencer Girard took a 2nd, a 4th, and 2-8ths;  TrevorLeValley had 1-3rd, 2-4ths, and a 7th;  Hannah Peseau took 4th, 2-7ths, and 1-8th:  and Karoline Schaufler took a 3rd!

Four Marlins were overall winners at the Blowfish Pentathlon. Leah Taylor, Abby Magee, Christina Domanowski, and Melody Coleman were all victorious destroying the competition by winning all, or nearly all, of their events!
