Hannah Taylor and Morgan Ginnis Dominated the girls 13-14 age group at Age Group PNS Champs in Federal Way! Hannah won the high point award by winning the 200 IM, 400 IM, and 200 free, and taking 2nd in the 100 and 200 breast, and 100 free. Amongst the huge and often intimidating college swimmers our young Mighty Marlins held their own at the National Meet at Federal Way! Jennifer Domanowski had the highest individual place taking 35th in the United States in the 200 butterfly. Morgan Ginnis, one of only two 13 year olds at the meet swam a 24.00 50 yard freestyle and missed finals by 6 tenths of a second. Many Mighty Marlins hit best times at the Age Group Invitational in Mukilteo: Christina Domanowski, Bindi Pedersen, and Drew Preston led the way with 6 best times. Maggie Delaney, Oliver Durand, Rachel Hartmeyer, Sarp Orgul, and Andrew Winquist each had 5! Twenty other Marlins had at least 1 best time as the Marlins continue to improve and bolster our already awesome team!
All the Mighty Marlin Swimmers at the Q-Meet either took home a ribbon for top 16 or garnered at least 1 best time. Jacob Blomberg and Leah Taylor each had a victory at the meet. Jacob won the 50 free, and Leah won the 100 breast. Maggie Delaney and Rosemary Mohr each took 2nd in an event, and Burch Walker scored a 3rd. Instead of getting a lot of presents on her birthday Maggie Delaney gave the Mighty Marlins a gift! Per request in her birthday party invitation guests were asked to not bring presents for Maggie but to bring donations to help the Mighty Marlins. This would seem like an amazing act for an older person to do, but for an 8 year old to be so generous is phenominal! Six Marlins took home trophies from the Chinook Pentathlon for finishing 6th or better overall in the 5 event test of endurance and skill!!! Madi Rossnagle was 5th overall, Jeffrey Lozensky 3rd, and Jennifer Domanowski was 2nd. Three Marlins were overall winners as Oliver Durand, Hannah Peseau, and Morgan Ginnis won their age divisions. Way to go all around swimmers!
