The Mighty Marlins hosted the NCSSL Champs Meet in Snohomish this weekend. The meet was a huge success thanks to the massive volunteer efforts of the Marlin parents and swimmers. Only 2 timers were treated for EFF after the meet (Excessive Finger Fatigue). The swimmers had a great meet as well! Several Marlins had individual wins. Hallie Higgins and Luke Mullen each won the 100 fly. Sophia Whall won the 100 free, Eugene McCarthy the 50 breast, and Alora de Vera the 100 back. Other Marlins with top 6 finishes...

Ava Thompson was the lone participant for the Mighty Marlins at the Age Group PNS Champs in Federal Way. Ava represented the Marlins well. She did best times in all six of her events in the 11-12 age group, which she just aged up into recently. She scored six points for the Marlins with an 11th place finish in the 1500 free with an outstanding time of 21:45.63, dropping over 45 seconds. Kirby Schaufler, (The Mighty Marlins Swim Club Coach), swam at the National Senior Games Swimming Championships, (Also known as the Fat Old Man Olympics) in Des Moines Iowa the weekend of July 25-28. Kirby took 3rd in the 400 and 200 IM, and the 200 backstroke. Kirby also took 5th in the 500 free and 7th in the 50-butterfly. Kirby’s friend, Wayne Huebener, also took a 3rd in the 500 free. The Mighty Marlins swam great at the Senior PNS Champs in Federal Way. Ben Clark, in his first PNS Champs, swam best times in all 4 of his events. Allen Pringle also had best times in all 4 of his events including a top 16 finish in the 200 breaststroke. Jacob Christy capped off the meet with a 4 second drop in the 200 fly, earning him a top 8 finish, taking 7th in finals. All the hard work from these 3 swimmers has paid off! Way to go Mighty...
