Six Marlins made the trek to Orlando Florida to swim at the NCSA Junior Nationals.  All had at least one best time and two Marlins made it to the finals session where the top 32 swimmers battled it out.  Hannah Taylor had two finals swims.  She had a great drop in the 400 IM to finish 23rd and also finaled in the 200 IM with a 24th place finish!  Jennifer Domanowski took 31st in the 200 fly at finals the first day.  Morgan Ginnis's best showing was a best time...

Spencer Girard was the lone Marlin representing the team at the Senior Sectional Meet in Federal Way.  He set a new Marlin record in the 100 breaststroke with a blistering 1:00.48 placing 39th. Way to go Spencer!

In an unexpected show of Frivolity the morning practice swimmers, 25 strong, showed up in some pretty interesting swim caps!  Reportedly the coach was surprised and very touched.  Thank you to all the Mighty Marlin Swimmers and Parents for making this the best team in the land!

Splash Magazine publishes a top 10 in the country list of times each year.  The list for 2009 included times for the 11 year old girls 1650.  Christina's swim at the Feb. 21 distance meet would have made 7th on the list.  Her 18:47.37 is truly an exceptional time! Way to go Christina!

This weekend exemplified how far reaching the Mighty Marlins are in the world of swimming.  Oliver Durand swimming for the MP High School Team won a district title in the 200 free and looks to win one at state next weekend.  Also 13 other current or past Marlins played a role in the 2nd place district finish and also figure prominantly in the MP plans to do well at state. Marlin Swimmers hit many best times at the February Challenge in Bellingham.  Kara Libra led the way with 7 best times.  Jonathan, Rebekah, and Shelby all had best times in all 4 races they swam.  Other Mighty Marlins with best times included:  Toria-1, Melody-3, Erin-2, Maggie-3, Christina-2, Rachel-2, Emerson-1, Mel-6, Jeffrey-4, Abby-1, Madi-1, Bethany-2, Anja-4, Keiran-1, Kaili-1, Leah-3, Raymon-1, Burch-1.  That's 58 best times overall.  Way to go Marlins!
