Competitive Swimming relies heavily on volunteers to help run the meets. Regardless of season- winter or summer- parents/guardians are expected to volunteer a minimum of 3 times at dual meets during a particular season. Failure to meet your volunteer requirement will result in a $100 charge being assessed to your YMCA account. Please note: some invitationals may require parent volunteers. If your swimmer chooses to participate, you may be required to volunteer. Volunteering at an Invitational does not count toward the 3 minimum required.
You may signup to volunteer for a dual meet at any time by simply clicking on "job signup" under the meet name listed under "Meets and Events". Positions fill fast, so sign up early to get your pick!
Some volunteer positions require previous training and/or certification. These are noted in the descriptions below and on the job signups. We are always looking for parents interested in being trained/certified for these positions. If there are any course fees associated with a certification and/or training, the team will cover the fee. If you are interested in learning more about the positions that require training, please contact Heidi Palau.
Please note: Beginning Fall 2019, due to federal/state regulations, anyone that will be volunteering must complete the YMCA volunteer packet. This includes YMCA volunteer application, criminal background check, child abuse clearance, mandated reporter and PLAY. Further information will be given about this requirement at the parent meetings held at the beginning of each season.
Meets would not run without volunteers!!
