Coaches and Directors

Heidi has always loved to swim and has been a part of the Hatboro (now Willow Grove) YMCA swim team as a parent, team rep and coach for the past 20 years. Both of her sons swam on the team from age 6 until they graduated high school. Heidi is a YMCA and USA certified swim coach and enjoys coaching all of the age groups.
Heidi is a graduate of Penn State University and has been a full time Paramedic for thr past 29 years. she enjoys working out, travelling, scuba diving and spending time with her family.

Sheri Ryan returns to the team this season to
teach the fundamentals of Competitive Swimming, Teamwork and
Sportsmanship to the Pre-Team and Mini Training Groups.
Sheri has been associated with HATY Swimming for over 20
years, first as a parent volunteer while her 4 sons
participated in the program and later in a coaching capacity.
Sheri has also been a Swim Lesson Instructor at the Hatboro Area
YMCA for the past 20 years.

John started swimming in second grade for his grade school Christ the King which is part of the CYSL. From there he swam in High School and for Bensalem Aquatic Club, and during his high school career he began as volunteer coach for Christ the King. After high school he swam for Arcadia University and qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships all four years. He holds the 200 yard breaststroke record at Arcadia as well as two relay records. He also coached for Bensalem Aquatic and Quartette Swim Club in the summers, and during the winter months he coached for the Northeast Family YMCA Penguins for two years. He is very excited to be a part of the Hatboro Hurricanes swim team. Coach John also works at the Y as a swim instructor and lifeguard instructor. In his spare time he likes to go hiking, workout, swim, and relax with friends and family.
