Construction began in 1968 and finished in 1971. With a major remodel in the 80s that added the roof to the main building. Originally, this site was an old gravel pit. It was run by the City of Edmonds from 1971-2005. Under threat of closure from the 2008 financial crisis, citizens raised $100,000 to keep the pool open. After that, the YMCA took over pool operations from 2008-2019. In 2019, the pool transitioned to a parnership between the City of Edmonds and Cascade Swim Club.
