Charger Aquatics at Albuquerque Academy is partnering with the American Red Cross to present aquatics safety certification courses to the greater- Albuquerque community.

Lifeguard courses are offered periodically throughout the year.  Upon completion of the course, which includes online content, students are certified in First Aid, CPR/AED and as lifeguards through the American Red Cross.

Charger Aquatics is offering one Lifeguarding course at the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium this spring. 

The first class begins with an orientation on Sunday February 23, 2020 (11:00-12:00pm) with the Lifeguard course on Saturday March 14-Sunday March 15 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm both days). 

The second class offering begins with an orientation on Saturday February 29, 2020 (4:00-5:00pm) with the Lifeguard course on Saturday April 25-Sunday April 26, 2020 (9:00 am – 5:00 pm both days). 

The orientation includes initial paperwork, an explanation of the class, including the online part of the course, as well as a water test.  The water test includes: swim 300 yards continuously (freestyle AND breaststroke), tread water for 2 minutes without using hands, and swim to pick up a brick off the bottom of the pool (timed).

Students must be 15 years of age by the last date of the class in order to participate.

Fee is $120.00 plus an online fee of $35.00 that is paid to the American Red Cross.
