On April 18th, 2023 the mayor of Jonesboro official declared the day Jonesboro Jets day in honor of the Jets accomplishments to cap off their Short Course season. This has been a very successful year for Jets swimmers and the Jets team as a whole. Our Jets swimmers that competed in Tupelo, Mississippi on April 15th-16th have a lot to cheer about heading into the long course season. All fourteen of our Jets swimmers produced at least one best time with ten of the fourteen swimming 100 percent best times. Eight of our Jets swimmers achieved Long course state times, with two being new state qualifiers, and four more jets swimmers added 'B' times to their swimming resume. Five Swimmers from our Jets Swim Team competed at the ISCA East Elite Showcase in St Petersburg Florida. This competition consisted of 1500 the best swimmers from 100 different clubs all over the Eastern United States. There were teams in attendance from Texas, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Minnesota, Washington DC, Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Rhode Island, New York, Colorado, Michigan, Connecticut, Illinois, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Dakota, Oregon, New Jersey, South Carolina, Wisconsin and many others. There were 13 Jets athletes in attendance April first for the April Pools Day meet in Searcy, Arkansas. They brought home 16 Gold, 6 Silver, and 10 bronze medals from the meet. Among our top three finishers were Mayar Hadki, Adam Hadki, Addyson Barber, George Pfriemer, Dexter Mellow, Natalie Caruso, Alana Rodriguez, Jaylynn Morgan-Price, Cali Byrd, and Jackson Reed. The relay pictured above, consisting of Katie Rowe, Londyn Moore, Adison McGaha, and Taylor Johnson broke the state record in the Girls 13-14 400 yard Freestyle Relay at the ARSI 14 and under champs in Benton on March 5th, 2023. They broke this record by over 2 seconds! The record was previouosly held by the Fort Smith Tideriders from 1995. Great Job Jets!
Congratulations to all of our Jets Swimmers on our successful Championship Season! We had multiple Jets swimmers representing their high schools at both the 4A and 5A High School state Champs. At 5A state champs, a relay team consisting of Madison Fischer, Katie Rowe, Daya Tucker, and Taylor Johnson won two state titles for Valley View High School.
