As head coach of the BPS TigerSharks, Joe brings a coaching ethos is built around nurturing swimmers ownership and supporting them in creating their own pathway in the sport.
Since 2020, Joe has lead swimmers from the TigerSharks to multiple national championships including medalists, along team conference titles at a junior and senior level. Joe joined us in 2020 following an excellent period as Head Coach at Hamilton Aquatics in Doha. Whilst leading swimmers to both Junior and Senior National meets across Europe, Joe led parent workshops across the year as well as swimmer workshops which included Psychology and Nutrition. He brings huge enthusiasm for school based swimming and his degree in Sports and Exercise Science and ASA coaching qualifications, is a valuable assett to the programme.
Joe is passionate about cultivating a team approach to swimming, implementing team based competition within squads and team challenges, helping nurture teamwork and sportsmanship within the programme. All of this leads to a positive and cohesive support network for the swimmers during the swim journey at BPS.
Coach Aek has been at BPS since 2007. For the majority of his
time at the school, has been stretched across both PE and
TigerSharks. He has now moved over fully to the TigerSharks
programme as one of our Assistant Head Coaches. Coach Aek studies
Sports Science at Chulalongkorn University and has a wealth of
experiencein both swim coaching and teaching. He is very focussed
on helping each swimmer achieve their potential. He has an eye for
numbers and is exceptional at recalling swimmer times, a valuable
skill in coaching.
Coach Aek recently travelled with the Thai National Junior team to
the Philippines to support with the SEA Age Group
Championships.
Coach Rich joins the full-time team with the Bangkok Patana TigerSharks as Assistant Head Coach for Learn to Swim from August 2024. Coach Rich spent around 7 years with Bangkok Dolphins and has fantastic knowledge of the local swim community working with a diverse range of swimmers. Specialising in Learn to Swim, Coach Rich brings fundamentals to his lessons, making sure swimmers him their skills whilst adopting a fun based to their learning.
Coach Rich will help to lead our TigerPrawns program for our selected Year 2 students alongside running the Saturday Splash program.
