HUGE congratulations to the BCS team of Delaney Herr, Bella Brito, Eryn Arnold, and Gabi Brito who kicked off our December championship season with a bang tonight at the Junior National Championships in Austin, Texas by taking home the win in the 200 Medley Relay! The girls’ time of 1:37.26 not only smashed the previous BCS Record by more than 10 seconds, but they also broke the JUNIOR NATIONALS West Meet Record that had stood since 2017, and were the fastest team in the country by more than a second!...
Last Weekend, BCS hosted their Fall Festival at the El Segundo Aquatics Center. Being this meet is the last chance for the Winter Age Group Championships (WAGs), it proved to show BCS will be heading to WAGs with an outstanding team! Please click HERE for our Meet Recap and HERE for a copy of our full results! Go BCS!
Last Saturday, BCS sent 50 athletes to the South Gate Aqua Coalition Spring Meet at Downey High School. This meet served as the kickoff to our Long Course competitive season, and if Saturday’s results are any indication, we’re in for a really great next few months! With many of our athletes competing in Long Course events for the first time (a hefty challenge in its own right), we’re not able to put together our usual total time dropped list, but our athletes did rack up a whopping 62 Top-10 Finishes,...
Last weekend BCS sent 19 of our HP and Senior 4 athletes down to the 2024 MVN Swim Meet of Champions meet in Mission Viejo. SMOC is really an amazing meet to be a part of, as it showcases not just some of the fastest 18&Under athletes in the country, but also Senior International level swimmers including World Record Holders and Olympic Gold Medalists from across the country and around the world. Several of our athletes had the opportunity to race head-to-head with Olympic Medalists and National Champions, making it...
March 14th-17th BCS sent 39 athletes to the 14&Under Spring Age Group Championships held at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena. The meet featured the fastest 14&Under athletes from all of Southern California Swimming and included some of the most accomplished swimmers from the entire country. It was a blazing fast meet from start to finish, and our athletes really stepped up to show that we belong side-by-side with the best of the best! When the dust settled, BCS had racked up 1,277 total points, 103 lifetime best swims,...
February 29th-March 3rd BCS sent 23 athletes, 3 coaches, and 3 chaperones to the Speedo Sectionals Championships down in Carlsbad. This was a “team travel” trip for us, so we loaded up the vans and we drove down together as a team, we ate our meals together as a team, and we raced together as a team. A HUGE thank you goes out to Robyn Arnold, Aki Gooden, and Mel Kuo for serving as our parent chaperones and taking amazing care of all our athletes and coaches all meet long!...
February 23rd-25th, BCS sent a whopping 123 athletes to the Pac Com Champs and Finale meet at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena. Typically the Pac Com Champs and Finale meets have been split into separate meets and weekends, but this year they were combined into one massive event, which made for some long days and a little bit of craziness (and an equally massive Meet Recap), but ultimately our athletes and coaches did a great job managing the new format, and we walked away with 493(!) new lifetime...
Last weekend BCS sent 36 athletes to the AAPI Lunar Festival meet down in Mission Viejo. The meet had a little bit different format that included prelims, finals, and distance sessions spread over 4 days (Friday-Monday) which made it a unique challenge for our athletes (and coaches) who competed across the entire meet. Despite the challenge, our athletes stepped up in a big way and we had 14 of our 36 athletes bring home individual event wins, and we walked away as the 3rd place overall team! This meet served...
