Profit Family Scholarships

Ron and Donna Profit are providing two scholarships annually to graduating Bluephin swimmers pursuing competitive swimming at university. The Profit family has been a part of the Bluephin Swim Club since 1984. Seven children were members from 1984 to 2012. Six children swam competitively at university. Donna has been a Bluephin coach, since 1998. Therefore in recognition, and appreciation, of the life-long benefits for their children and for other youth from competitive swimming, and from being part of the Bluephin family, Donna and Ron wish to assist Bluephins beginning their university swimming.

Selection and Award Particulars

1. The head coach and the President of the Bluephin Swim Club jointly select annually the two scholarship recipients.

2. Each scholarship amount is $500.00.

3. (a) One scholarship is to a graduating Bluephin swimmer attending UPEI and planning to swim with the varsity team.

(b) Second scholarship is to a graduating Bluephin swimmer attending another university and planning to swim with the varsity team.

4. If there is no graduating swimmer planning to swim with UPEI, then the two scholarships are awarded to graduating swimmers planning to swim with another varsity team. The opposite also applies.

5. The awards will be presented at the Bluephin club’s banquet.
