HHBF Volunteer Pathway

HHBF Volunteer Pathways:  We have developed a Pathway of Volunteering to ensure everyone is comfortable and supported to build great relationships that contribute to making HHBF as strong as it can be.

Step 1.   Volunteer! - no experience necessary!  Sign up to carry fundraising items to members cars, donate required items to the Santa Claus parade, hand out ribbons at the Mini Fins meet.  Have fun, meet new people and get a feel for the Blue Fins!

Step 2.  Officiate! - Sign up for clinics, become a timer at your swimmer’s meets, learn the Levels of Officiating and obtain them!

Step 3.  Committee Member - Once you have put some time into volunteering and officiating, consider bringing some of your expertise to the Club!  Volunteer to help plan the Awards Banquet or show off your skills as a Social Media Expert.  Help bring important information and changes to our diversity.  Something else you think is beneficial?  Let us know!

Step 4.  Board Member (Fundraising, Marketing, Officials, Meet Manager, Sponsorship, Facilities, Communications) -Take the volunteer hours you’ve contributed this far, and learn even more by helping plan the everyday working of HHBF.   Consider running for one of the positions when elections are held.  These positions are voting positions and require a season-long commitment of your best effort for your position.  A season of Blue Fins involvement from the above steps is preferred.

Step 5.  Executive Member (Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President, President) -Once you have spent a season as a Board Member, we welcome you to run in HHBF elections to be part of the Executive team.  Executive Members are part of the Budget Committee, Club operations such as contracts, Liaise with Swim Ontario, Accounting, Hold Board Meetings to name a few.  This is also a season-long commitment requiring a strong presence.
