Long Term Athlete Development Stage: Fundamentals - Level 2
Prerequisites:
-Assessment by Coaching Staff
-Follows code of conduct
Intro White Group Goals:
- Swimmers will be coached in an environment more reflective of a competitive training program
- Reinforce correct Freestyle kick, head & body position
- High elbows in Freestyle recovery with 6-Beat kick
- Reinforce correct Backstroke kick, head and body position
- Hands follow a “pinky in first” & “thumb out first” pattern
- Introduction to Breaststroke stroke
- Introduction of Butterfly/Dolphin Kick
- Introduce track Dive from diving blocks
- Introduce Backstroke start with wedge

- Home Meets
- 3 x Away Meets
Intro Blue Group Goals:
- Swimmers will be coached in an environment of a competitive training program.
- Swim 75 metres Free & Backstroke with correct technique
- Swim 50 metres Breaststroke with correct technique
- Swim 25 metres with correct Butterfly Technique
- Introduce Flip Turns for Free/Back &
- Introduce Open Turns for Breast/Fly
- Track Dive from diving Blocks
- Backstroke start with wedge

- Swim 100 metres Free & Backstroke with correct technique
- Swim 75 metres Breaststroke with correct technique

- Introduction to 100 IM
- Flip Turns for Free/Back &
- Open Turns for Breast/Fly
- Track Start from the diving blocks/Backstroke Start
- Introduction to IM transition turns
- Introduction to Breaststroke underwater pullout
- Introduction to Relay takeover
