Coaches

We have a fun group of artistic swimming coaches on staff, to follow our vision for Fun, Challenging Fitness and Friendship. Our coaches are certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). We are lucky to have such a talented and dedicated coaching staff!

RDSASC Head Coach - Kaila 
 
Kaila has been a member with the Red Deer Silhouettes since 2011. Her educational background includes completing her Advanced Coaching Diploma in the sport of Artistic Swimming, through the National Coaching Certification Program in March, 2022.  She also attended NAIT where she graduated from the Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma Program in 2014.  Kaila is a certified level 2 artistic swimming judge and has been judging the sport since 2015. One of Kaila's many passions includes coaching flexibility, and because of this passion she pursued educational training where she became a certified module three Alixa flexibility instructor, and trained NCCP gymnastics foundations coach.
Kaila has worked with National, Provincial and Recreation level athletes interprovincially.
She worked with AAS at their 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 Recreation watershow & workshop and, in 2019 at their Wildrose Development Camp. 

2022 Kaila was named Alberta Artistic Swimming's 11-12 Provincial Team Head Coach.
2023 Kaila worked with Canada Artistic Swimming's Junior National Team as an apprentice Coach. 
2024 Kaila was named Coach to Alberta Artistic Swimmings 11-12 Provincial Team
2025 Kaila was named as Assitant Coach for Team Alberta's 2025 Canada Summer Games Team 
 
 
RDSASC Coach - "JJ" Jessica 

 
JJ is a Trained NCCP Artistic Swimming Competition Development Coach. She started Artistic Swimming at the age of 14 and have swam with Red Deer for most of the 7 years with the exception of swimming in Calgary for one season. She started out provincially for 3 years and swam as a national Junior/Senior swimmer before her retirement. JJ's greatest accomplishment was to qualify for Team Alberta to represent Canada at the 2009 USA Open Championship under the guidance of the esteemed Leslie Sprole and placed a hard earned silver metal for Alberta's first ever national senior team! JJ also had the opportunity to be a team member to help Red Deer achieve a Silver medal at Western Canadian Championships and also put Red Deer on the map by placing top 6 in the Senior solo events at the Canadian Open Championships.
 
 
RDSASC Coach- Kaetlyn 
 
Kaetlyn is a Certified NCCP Competition Introduction Coach. She has swam for 8 years as a Competitive Artistic Swimmer, and continues to swim as a Masters swimmer. Her Favourite memory is from Alberta Winter Games in 2018. She loved spending quality time with her team and having an amzing experience with them. They achieved their highest score and earned a Silver Medal. The memory is special to Kaetlyn as it brough her closer to her teammates and coaches. 
 
 
RDSASC Coach- Eko 
Eko took their NCCP AquaGo trained Instructor and Competition Introduction trained Coach. They have a background in Highland Dance and have been coaching Highland dance for the past few years, they love coaching and have been with our Club since 2023. 
 
RDSASC Coach- Michaela 

Michaela  took her  NCCP AquaGo trained Instructor and Competition Introduction trained Coach. Michaela comes to join the Silhouettes after swimming and coaching with Killarney Artstic Swimming Club. 
 
RDSASC Coach - Kia 
 
Kia has been a member with RDSSC since 2011. She is a Certified NCCP Competition Development Artistic Swimming coach. As an athlete, Kia has swam in both the national and provincial streams, and continues to swim as a Masters athlete. Highlights of her Provincial stream career include a gold medal in figures at Alberta Winter Games in 2016, as well as receiving the Merit Award in 2014 and 2016. As a National stream athlete,  Kia successfully made it onto Alberta Artistic Swimming's 13-15 Team in 2017, and qualified for AAS's Junior team in 2018. 
As a Coach Kia has succesfully coached many athletes to podium finishes.

2023 Kia worked with Team Alberta as an Apprentice Coach, working with all 3 age group Teams prepare for SYNC.
2024 Kia was name assistant coach for Team Alberta working with the Youth and Junior Teams.  

2025 Kia was name assistant coach for Team Alberta's Youth Developmental Team
 
RDSASC AquaGo! Coach- Kassidee
- Kassidee  took her NCCP AquaGo trained Instructor and Competition Introduction trained Coach. Highlights of Kass's Artistic Swimming Career so far has been being named to Alberta Artistic Swimming Youth Team in 2022, and their Junior Team in 2024 where she traveld to Peru to compete at the PanAm age group Championships. 
 
RDSASC AquaGo! Coach- Kayla
- Kayla  took her NCCP AquaGo trained Instructor course. Kayla has been swimming since a very younge age. She swam with Marlins Speed Swimming Club every summer, and swam with the Silhouettes since 2019. She is excited to pass along her love of the sport and knowledge she has learned. 
 
RDSASC AquaGo! Coach- Tashianna
- Tash,  took her NCCP AquaGo trained Instructor course. Tash has been swimming with the Silhouettes since 2018. She is excited to coach athletes and pass along her love for the sport!
