Competitive Wildrose Pathway 2025-2026 Season

Our Wildrose pathway athletes compete Provincially to achieve their personal bests. With a focus on further developing artistic swimming-specific skills, swimmers will train for flexibility, strength, endurance, and speed development. First year competitive athletes will enter either the 10&U or Novice programs. No previous artistic swimming experience required to join.

Prerequisites for the 10&U and Novice program are:
- Athletes should be able to swim 25m continuously unassisted (Red Cross Level 4)
- Athletes must be comfortable in deep water, and submerging their head
The regular training season will run from September 2025 to the end of May 2026 and athletes will train 6-11 hrs/week over 3-5 days, depending on age and routines. The fees and schedule will be finalized once final numbers and teams are known. Swim fees will be approximately $2,500-$3,750/season (dependent on hours).
All pool times are swam out of the Recreation Centre and the Michener Centre dive tank. Athletes practice times are determined by which team swim on. Exact dates and times are subject to pool availability. Hours are below.
SCHEDULE
9-10 Team
6 hours per week, 3 days a week (Mon 5:00-7:30/Wed/Fri 5:00-7:00)
Novice Team
7.5 hours per week, 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri 5:00-7:30)
11-12 Team
9 hours per week, 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri 4:00-7:00)
Youth Wildrose Team
11 hours per week, 4 days a week (Mon 4:00-7:15 Rec Pool Tue/Thu 6:00-8:30 Mich Pool, Fri 5:00-8:00 Rec Pool)
Junior Wildrose Team
7.5 hours per week, 3 days a week (Mon/Wed/Fri 5:00-7:30 TBC)
Extra Routines
1 hour per week on Friday nights or Saturday mornings
Competitive parents will be required to commit to mandatory fundraising, elective fundraising and volunteer hours throughout the season. Athletes interested in joining our competitive program must register for training camp. Once you are registered for training camp, there is no further registration needed for the competitive program. The next training camp will take place September 2025. Registration will open July 1st. June 1-10the early bird registration.
Competitive High Performance 2025-2026 Season

This program is for returning competitive athletes ages 12 and up, wishing to hone their skills and compete at a high performance level. Athletes on a Team will compete in 4 competitions. Any athletes without a team or swimming an Extra routine will compete in 2-4 competition depending on routine(s) and qualifying placement. These athletes compete in both the east and west of Canada.
The regular training season will run from September 2025 to end of May 2026. The fees and schedule will be finalized once final numbers and routines are known. Swim fees will be approximately $4,500/season, Travel is an additonal cost. Swim hours are below.
Youth
13 hours per week, 5 days a week (Mon 4:00-7:15, Wed 4:00-6:00, Tue/Thu 6:00-8:30, Fri 5:00-8:00)
Junior/Senior
15 hours per week, 5 days a week (Schedule TBC)

Extra Routines (Solo/Duet/AWG Team)

Extra routines are awarded based on coaching and pool availability, athletes level of commitment, and skill level. Wildrose pathway and National pathway athletes that are awarded an extra routine will pay a monthly fee's of:
$100 Solo,
$75 Duet,
$50 Combo Team
Extra routines will be trained on Friday nights 8:00-9:00pm or Saturday mornings for one hour between 8:00am-12:00pm
Alberta Winter Games is held once every 2 years, the next occurring 2026 in Bonnyville/Cold Lake. The Head Coach will asses athlete's skills in order to be placed on this additional team.
