USA Swimming Members 17 years and older, LSC General Chairs, LSC Administrative Vice-Chairs, LSC Offices, LSC Staff, LSC Safe Sport Chairs, LSC Registration Chairs, Club Contacts, Club Presidents and Club Head Coaches. Since 2019, USA Swimming adult athlete members have been required to complete Athlete Protection Training (APT) as a requirement of membership. In 2019, USA Swimming built in an administrative grace period to give athletes 30 days after their 18th birthday to complete the requirement. On Monday, April 2, 2019, the New York Legislature passed its 2019-2020 budget. The budget passed included a increase to Office of Court Administration (OCA) searches from $65 to $95. During 2019, as a benefit to members initiating or renewing the USA Swimming required criminal background check, USA Swimming subsidized this fee such that USA Swimming paid $40 and members who were charged the additional fee(s) paid only $55 per name that must be searched.
