Annual Service Hour Requirement

Competitive Swimming, like many youth sports, requires a tremendous amount of parental support to provide a high-quality program for swimmers and families. A significant amount of this support comes from volunteerism at competitions.  Timers, officials and other jobs must be filled to provide an efficient swim meet experience for all.  The following Service Hour Requirements have been established to fulfill our program needs for the 2025-26 swimming year.

Service Hour Requirements - Minimum of 5 or 10 Hours per Family for the year (SCY & LCM combined).

  1. Each family is required to sign-up for (and complete) a minimum & of Service Hours for the Fall/Winter and Summer Seasons combined.
    1. Families with ONLY Sailor, Pioneer, & Explorer level swimmers will be required to complete 5hrs
    2. Families with swimmers in Bandits, Raiders, Everglades, & Performance will be required to complete 10hrs
    3. Required hours may be pro-rated for Late Registrants and may be pro-rated for early withdraw from the program (only if no opportunities have been available).
      1. If hosted events are canceled, required hours per family may be adjusted lower.
  2. There will be a $50 Penalty per service hour not fulfilled at the end of the LCM season or at the time a swimmer leaves the program, whichever comes first.
  3. Expectations
    1. For all regular season REAC-hosted meets, parents are encouraged to fill meet worker positions regardless of whether their child is competing in the meet.
    2. Hours for assorted jobs as needed for special events & away meets may be offered
    3. For REAC Home Hosted CHAMPIONSHIP Meets (ie: BB Championships): families with swimmers competing in the meet are required to fulfill at least 2 worker positions throughout the event. There will be a $100 per session penalty for any amount under two sessions. This penalty would be separate and in addition to any financial penalties imposed for not fulfilling the standard annual requirement.
  4. Service Hour requirements may be adjusted during the year according to actual team needs.
