Every year USA Swimming has its version of the Academy Awards, known as the Golden Goggles. Not surprisingly, Natalie Coughlin and Michael Phelps were the big winners. Polar Bear Club Starts Monday, November 3rd We are offering the Polar Bear Club again this year for all swimmers in the 3:45 group and Coach Terrell’s 5pm group that would like to swim through the colder weeks of the year. (Of course, the pool is HEATED!) To reward these swimmers for “bearing" the cold, they will be recognized at our Team Banquet and receive a Polar Bear Club sweatshirt. USASwimming Votes to Restrict Certain Swimsuits for 12&Under Swimmers! At the 2008 United States Aquatic Sports Convention in Atlanta, USA Swimming’s House of Delegates voted to restrict the use of certain "high tech" swimsuits for 12 & Under competition. The legislation will restrict swimmers ages 12 and younger from wearing suits of any material that extend past the knee cap, past the shoulder, or above the neck.
