GTSA Has Strong Performance at JO's

 

GTSA finished off a big weekend at short course Junior Olympics (JOs) on Sunday. The team of 10 qualifiers got stronger as the meet went on. Sunday was capped with 5 swims in the Finals: two swims for Emily Clifford (200 IM 13th, 100 BR 7th) and one for Emma Donahue (100 BR 13th), Tyler Heath (100 FR 12th), and Alexandria Donahue (50 BR 16th), respectively.
Saturday Tyler capped a long day with two swims in Finals. He dropped almost 17 seconds in the 500 free to place 12 th with a time of 5:30.46. He also swam a personal best of 1:05.76 in the 100 fly, swimming to a 13 th place finish.
Friday both Emily and Tyler got the team off on the right foot with one finals swim each. Emily finished 7 th with a time of 2:28.58 in the 200 breast. Tyler raced to a 14 th place finish with a time of 29.59 in the 50 fly.
Overall the coaches were very happy with the success of the team and are excited with the possibilities for this summer’s JOs.
