GTSA Makes First Florida Age Group States One To Remember
Greater Tampa Swimming Assoc. made the first Florida Age Group States one that will not soon be forgotten. Amassing 168 points on the weekend GTSA managed a top 25 finish. It was a complete team effort with 7 swimmers scoring points including top 8 finishes from Matthew Dieffenthaller, Alexandria Donahue, and Tyler Heath. The 10&under boys relay, consisting of Victor Cogdill, Christopher Dieffenthaller, Matthew Dieffenthaller, and T.J. Donahue, finished 4th and 5th in the 200 Freestyle and Medley relays, respectively. Those relays along with strong individual swims helped GTSA’s 10&under boys finish 7th in the state. The team compiled 88% best times for the weekend including 100% best times from Julia Cogdill, Victor Cogdill, Tyler Heath and Grace Sanchez. Alexandria Donahue wanted to end GTSA’s meet with a bang, and that she did! Alexandria finished 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:05.53 qualifying her for NCSA Junior Nationals! Way to go Alexandria!! GTSA is in action again this weekend at Florida Senior Championships in Orlando, FL.
