GTSA Uses "Spring Invite" to Vault Into Long Course Season
GTSA made its long course debut this past weekend at the WFLA “Spring Invite”. The team accumulated 215 points on the weekend earning a 5th place finish. Those points came from many different swimmers with 5 swimmers finishing in the top 3 in individual events including Christopher Dieffenthaller, Matthew Dieffenthaller, Ally Donahue, Reagan Flynn, Tyler Heath, Ana Sanchez and Margaret Shumake. 79% of the time GTSA hit the water it was a best time including 100% personal bests from Ana Delong, Elsa Delong, Christopher Dieffenthaller, Veronica Francis, Madyson Melendez, Ana Perfit, Ana Sanchez, and Grace Sanchez. Christopher Dieffenthaller used his personal best times to earn 29 points and receive the 8&under boys high point award. GTSA will compete again this weekend at the Hurricane Man, which is an open water race at St. Pete Beach. They will hit the pool again for racing on May 20th in St. Petersburg.
