Day 3 Highlighted by 6 Scoring Swims and 8 Best Times
GTSA had 4 different swimmers score points on 6 different occasions on Saturday at FLAG’s. Tyler Heath and Grace Sanchez led the way finishing in the top 16 in two events. Tyler finished 5th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:18.52, and 16th in the 400 freestyle. Grace touched the wall at 32.70 in the 50 butterfly to earn a 14th place finish, and finished 16th in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 40.08. Matthew Dieffenthaller went a new best time of 36.67 to finish 7th in the 50 butterfly. Ally Donahue touched the wall 3rd in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.10. Earlier in the morning Ally touched the wall in a time of 1:14.45 just .16 seconds away from earning herself a trip to California to compete in USA Swimming Junior Nationals. In that same event Julia Cogdill dropped almost 4 seconds finishing in a time of 1:22.41 in 17th place only .35 seconds away from making it back to finals. Christopher Dieffenthaller made the most of his only appearance in the meet dropping 3 seconds in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:44.42. After day 3 GTSA is in 24th place.
