GTSA Finishes 22nd at 2011 Florida Age Group Championships
After 4 full days of competition GTSA acc
umulated 156 points to earn a 22nd place finish. Tyler Heath did his part on the final day earning him 2 finals swims. In the 50 freestyle Tyler touched the wall in a time of 26.29 to earn 5th place. While in the 100 butterfly he finished in a time of 1:01.85 in 4th place. Matthew Dieffenthaller finished the 50 freestyle in a time of 32.42 earning a 5th place finish. He also dropped 5 seconds in the 200 freestyle finishing in a time of 2:39.21. Grace Sanchez and Julia Cogdill also finished off perfect weekends of best times with times of 30.85 and 28.99 respectively in the 50 freestyle. Ally Donahue went a new best time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:39.70. On the weekend GTSA had best times in 28 out of 30 events, and 4 out of the 7 swimmers scored in individual events. It was a great weekend full of fast swimming. With hard work over the next few months hopefully the FLAG’s this coming March will be even better.
