Plant’s Women 4th, Men 16th, Holy Names 4th

                   Thursday the Plant High School Men’s and Women’s Swim Teams participated in the FHSAA 3A State Finals.  All 6 GTSA swimmers that were represented helped score points for their team.  The Plant girls were helped by strong relays 200 Medley Relay 4th Carter Flynn, Ally Donahue), 200 Free Relay 7th (Ally Donahue), 400 Freestyle Relay 14th (Carter Flynn, Emma Donahue).  Individually Ally and Emma Donahue scored in the 100 Breaststroke finishing 5th and 9th respectively.  The great swimming lead Plant to a 4th place finish in the state.  The Plant gentleman scored in 2 relays as well, the 200 Free Relay finished 9th (Jeremy Parker, Giakomo Rosso) while the 400 Freestyle Relay finished 7th (Tyler Heath, Jeremy Parker, Giakomo Rosso).  The Plant men finished the meet with a 16th place finish.

                On Saturday GTSA swimmers kept up the good work this time representing Holy Names.  Both Julia Cogdill and Margaret Shumake started the night by helping their team finish 14th in the 200 Medley Relay.  In the 100 Breaststroke both of them made finals swimming personal bests and finishing 6th (Margaret Shumake) and 16th (Julia Cogdill).  Those 2 helped their team finish 4th in the 2A.
