Sr. Championships: Friday

                Florida Swimming Senior Championships continued on Friday in Orlando, FL.  The first event led to 3 new best times for GTSA.  Tyler Heath (1:47.91), Jeremy Parker (1:46.60), and Giakomo Rosso (1:48.82) all went personal bests in the 200 Freestyle.  GTSA’s girls started the day with the 200 Breaststroke, where 3 girls swam fast enough to make it back to the finals.  Ally Donahue finished 4th in the event with a time of 2:23.19, while Margaret Shumake (2:30.67) and Emma Donahue (2:31.43) finished 11 and 14 respectively.  Mary Margaret Deedrick also had a great swim with a time of 2:34.50.  Next came the 100 Butterfly where Tyler Heath (54.32), Emma Donahue (1:00.93), Jeremy Parker (55.44), and Giakomo Rosso (55.47) all recorded best times.  The final event of the morning session was the 400 IM Carter Flynn and Mary Margaret Deedrick both had great swims with times of 4:51.45, and 4:57.25 respectively.

                In the finals the pool is switched to long course meters.  Ally Donahue touched the wall in a time of 2:50.09 to earn 7th place.  Margaret finished 15th with a time of 2:56.83 while Emma finished 16th with a time of 3:05.81.  After a day and a half GTSA is tied for 23 place.  The action will continue Saturday!
