Senior Championships: Sunday

GTSA finished off the 2012 Senior Championships with a bang.  Margaret Shumake, Emma Donahue, Ally Donahue, and Jeremy Parker all made it to finals giving the team their most qualifiers on the weekend.  All 4 swimmers made finals in the 100 Breaststroke.  Jeremy Parker finished 15^th in the Senior Boys event with a time of 1:15.86.  In the consolation final of the girls 14-16 event Margaret touched the wall in a time of 1:19.81 earning her 10^th, while Emma stopped the clock at 1:23.84 finishing 15^th.  In the Championship Final Ally Donahue had an exceptional second 50, which led to a time of 1:14.71 and a first place finish.  She touched the wall a full second ahead of the second place finisher.  This makes Ally GTSA’s first Senior Championship’s Champion in over 5 years. 

            With the strong final night GTSA finished in 27^th place.  We are so proud of all 8 swimmers who represented us at the meet.  If you see them around the pool this week please congratulate them on a job well done!
