GTSA Has a Tremendous FLAG’s

Over the weekend the best Florida Swimming has to offer, when it comes to 14&under swimming, gathered in Gainseville, FL.  After all was said and done GTSA proved that they were among the state’s best. In a meet that included over 60 teams GTSA finished 23rd with 148 points.  5 different swimmers scored in individual events including Julia Cogdill (9th 200 Breast, 10th 100 Breast), Gabby Donahue (5th 50 Back, 15th 400 Free, 16th 50 Fly, 6th 200IM, 7th 50 Free, 14th 200 Free), Christopher Dieffenthaller (5th 50 Breast, 10th 100 Breast), Maggie Mullen (15th 50 Back), and Morgan Tankersley (12th 100 Back, 6th 200 Free, 7th 400 Free). While our 10&under girls (Gabby Donahue, Reagan Flynn, Maggie Mullen, and Sophie Sanchez) scored in both relays finishing 14th in the 200 Medley and a remarkable 5th in the 200 Free.

Over 80% of the time a GTSA swimmer hit the pool it was a best time including 100% personal bests from Julia Cogdill, Gabby Donahue, and Morgan Tankersley.  Almost every other swimmer improved in all but one or two events.  Overall it was a very successful weekend.  Please be sure to congratulate all of the swimmers for representing GTSA so well.

GTSA’s senior swimmers will have their chance this weekend at Florida Senior Championships, while the remainder of the team will be competing at Area 3/5 Championships!  I would also like to point out that this weekend proved that some positive things can happen in Gainseville, FL!!
