GTSA Scares the Competition at NIKE Classic

In a meet where pumpkins went to the winner of each heat, GTSA went home with more pumpkins than parents will know what to do with.  All of these great swims led to 217 points over the 2 day meet, which was good enough for 6th place in the 15 team meet. The team had 12 different swimmers score points including 3 swimmers who finished in the top 5 in their age group high point races (Reese Friar 5th, Gabby Donahue 2nd, and Morgan Tankersley 4th).

Greater Tampa had 82% best times on the weekend including 100% best times from William Aneiros, Bryce Bedke, Wyatt Bedke, Aliyah Bergen, Ben Bergen, Alex Blau, Jase Dominic, Veronica Francis, Arden Friar, Reese Friar, Larry Gomez, Hunter Heim, Gavin Henley, Samantha Henley, Andrew Kynes, Maggie Mullen, Hillary Perfit, Jeffrey Smith, and Sidney Whitfield.  We also had a large number of swimmers participating in their first USA Swimming meet including Lev Bergen, Parker Brinner, Chay Bucholz-Guerrero, Theo Bucholz-Guerrero, Claire Casper, Dexter Eldred, Kayla Juback, Skylar Martinez, Olivia Nelson, and Kerry Tankersley.  Not only did the entire team swim fast, but everyone also did a great job of supporting their teammates!  GTSA returns to action on October 28th at SPA’s Sunday Morning at the Races.

It was great to see so many GTSA swimmers at this weekend’s meet.  I hope that this is the start of GTSA taking large numbers to meets and continuing to swim fast!
