Getting Rowdy and Racing
This past weekend 28 GTSA swimmers traveled to Winter Haven, FL for the Winter Haven Stingray’s “Get Rowdy and Race Meet.” The 3 day meet was full of fantastic swims from GTSA members. The team had a best time percentage of 77% on the weekend, with countless swimmers finishing with 100% personal bests.
GTSA finished the 20 team meet in 10th place accumulating 347 points over the three days. Multiple GTSA swimmers contributed to the point scoring, but three swimmers really stood out. Jeffrey Smith finished the weekend in 2nd place in the 6&under high point race. Ally Donahue also captured 2nd place in the senior girls high point race. Meanwhile GTSA’s Morgan Tankersley won all 10 of the events in which she participated on her way to winning the 13-14 girls high point award.
The meet was a great success for all GTSA swimmers. The coaches were so proud of all of the swimmers effort and team spirit. GTSA will return to action on October 12th at the 2013 Nike Classic.
