Championship Meet Recap

Todd Hoffmeier

What a great way to end our Senior Champ short course season! Our GTSA qualifying swimmers were highly motivated and came each day with great personalities and ready to conquer each race. Our swimmers performed and raced and earned personal top times and set a few new team records at the championship meet.

On Thursday, March 7 th , the first event for GTSA was the men’s 800-yard freestyle relay (Tindoll, Parmer, Medina, Izzi) where our team had a massive time drop of 18 seconds. The next day, the men came back and did it again in the 200-yard freestyle relay by achieving another time drop over 2 seconds.

It was great to see and hear the positive attitudes and total team support throughout the championship meets. All of the swimmers took total pride, personal responsibility and were enthusiastically accountable for preparing to be the best they can be.  Below, are the swimmers who represented us at the Senior Championship Meet, March 7 – 10, 2024….

FLAG Championship Meet Recap, March 1 – 3, 2024

Our GTSA Qualifiers represented GTSA very well at the Age Group Championship meet in Orlando. The first night, GTSA had 100% best times and each swimmer came ready to race. The entire team, all three days, performed at a premium from sprints to the 400-yard IM and all the relays were spectacular. GTSA’s high scorer was Brody Tindoll (14 years old) with 64 points followed by Darwin Walker (10 years old) with 28 points. The total points netted GTSA a 19 th place finish on the men’s side out of 33 teams and an overall finish in 23rd place.
