DCS Team Structure and Paths to Success

The DCS training progression, responsibilities and expectations, and monthly tuition fee are listed below. The coaching staff determines training group placement and promotion.

Swim Academy ($100/ 4-week clinic)

Age range: 4 -12

Practice length: 30 minutes swim  (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  1

DCS Swim Academy is a special Learn-to-Swim program tailored for ages 4-12. It offers a safe, stimulating, and supportive atmosphere where children can master water comfort and learn vital swimming fundamentals, transforming them into skilled and confident swimmers.

Level 1 ($120/month)

Age range: 5+

Practice length: 60 minutes swim (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  2

Level 1 is our first step to learning competitive swimming skills. Swimmers are introduced to elements of all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. They perform drills to learn the proper stroke technique, as well as gain endurance and strength. Starts and turns are introduced. This group provides swimmers an opportunity to compete in fun swimming competitions. Meets are not mandatory but are encouraged to help evaluate progress through the year.  Dryland training is part of practice to introduce strength, mobility, and balance. Level 2 ($140/month)

Age range: 5+

Practice length: 60 minutes swim (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  3

Level 2 is an intermediate-emerging group in which members build on skills and endurance learned from Swim Academy and Level 1.  Swimmers continue their progression into all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. They perform drills to learn the proper stroke technique, as well as gain endurance and strength. Instruction in starts and turns continues and becomes a focus as well.  This group provides swimmers an opportunity to compete in fun swimming competitions. Meets are not mandatory but encouraged to help evaluate progress through the year Dryland training is part of practice to build strength, balance, and mobility skills. Bronze ($155/month)

Age range:  9-12

Practice length:  90 minutes swim plus dryland (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  4

Note:  Advancement to this group requires approval of Head Coach

Bronze is an intermediate competitive group. Swimmers perform more advanced drills to improve stroke technique as well as increase strength and endurance. Workouts are structured and include dryland training. Participation in swim meets is expected for this group. Click HERE for Bronze Curriculum and Expectations.

Silver  ($155/month)

Age range:  13-18

Practice length:  90 minutes swim (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  4

Note:  Advancement to this group requires approval of Head Coach

Silver is a competitive group that is highly focused on swimming without the pressure of required attendance and competition. Swimmers perform interval training and advanced drills to improve stroke technique as well as increase strength and endurance. Click HERE for Silver Curriculum and Expectations.

Gold ($185/month)

Age range:  11-18

Practice length:  1.5 to 2 hours swim plus dryland (see training schedule)

Offered practices per week:  6

Note:  Advancement to this group requires the approval of the Head Coach.

Gold is a competitive group that is highly committed to the sport of swimming. Swimmers perform interval training and advanced drills to improve stroke technique as well as increase strength and endurance. Workouts are structured and include dryland training.
