Sectional Swimmers kick off the Championship Season with 17 Team Records SWAT had eight athletes attend the Sectional Championships in Mt. Hood, OR this past weekend. The IES Junior Olympic Time Standard is the National "B" Standard. This means that if your swimmer has achieved the "B Standard they are eligible to attend Junior Olympics in July. This weekend marks the beginning of our Championship Season! SWAT has 53 Swimmers traveling to Moses Lake this weekend for the IES Jr. Champs Meet. For many of our swimmers this is their first Prelims/Finals Championship Meet. This means that our 11 & Over Swimmers Compete in the Prelims Session on Saturday and Sunday morning and the Top 8 Swimmers from each Event and Age Group will Race again at Finals to score points for the team. This past weekend SWAT athletes Drew Kistler and Michael Hochwalt competed in the USA Swimming Jr. Nationals in Austin, TX. Jr. Nationals is the fastest 18 & Under Meet in the country and features many of USA Swimming's future Olympic Champions. SWAT had 129 athletes competing this past weekend with 104 swimmers at Whitworth for the Winter Invite and 25 swimmers at the Vandal Invitational in Moscow, ID. Both meets were an enormous success for our team. The December Championship Meets mark the halfway point of the 2021-2022 Short Course Season.
