St Charles Aquatics Initiative - Needs Your Voice

Jonathan Cabel

The St. Charles Aquatics Initiative (SCAI) is a group of passionate residents coming together with one shared goal: to bring a competitive-quality swimming pool to our community. This initiative is about more than just building a pool — it’s about investing in health, youth development, and local pride.

Our vision is to create a modern aquatic facility that supports swimmers of all ages and skill levels — from beginners to competitive athletes. With your support, we can build a space that serves as a hub for fitness and community connection, provides water safety - the leading cause of death in children and adults, host swim meets and trains future champions.

Whether you're a swimmer, a parent, or simply someone who believes in strong neighborhoods, we invite you to join us. Let’s make a splash — together.

It all begins with an idea.

  • Build a State-of-the-Art Aquatic Center in our Community.
  • Increase aquatic awareness and safety, enhance public health and promote excellence through aquatic activities.
  • Bring Competitive Swimming, Water Safety and Community Access to Water to “Top of Class” levels making it a destination point for current residents, future residents and guests of the St Charles community.

Our facility will include.

  • 25-yard warm water Teaching / Therapy Pool.
  • 10-Lane 50-meter Competitive Lap Pool.
  • 25-yard Training Pool / Diving Well.
  • Secure locker rooms, weight training, and dry land training areas.
  • Ample viewing space for lessons and competitions.
  • The space will also include offices and meeting space.
  • Space for retail/restaurant

Why St. Charles?

  • Desire of the St Charles Community to have more Open Water and better availability for swimming as a part of a healthy lifestyle.
  • Demand for Water Safety amongst our youngest community members.
  • 50 Year history and tradition of the St Charles Swim Team.
  • Existing relationship between the Swim Club, the Park District, and the School District.
  • Our Community, the State of Illinois, and the Greater Midwestern United States lacks a true facility to cater to the needs of the swim community and water enthusiasts.
  • Community Use goes beyond Health and Fitness and Community Swim with uses for Water Safety/Swim Lessons, Community Training Facility for Emergency Services, and District 303 Uses for Swimming/Diving/Water Polo amongst others.
