Athlete Rep Election & Committee Information

 

We had a record breaking election with 19 candidates and over 1000 votes in 2024!!! With the introduction of electronic voting and the Ambassador Camp held with the Fall House of Delegates, we have seen tremendous growth in athlete engagement and look forward to continuing our mission.

  2. Complete the Rep/Committee Application - Available HERE (Committee Application open year round)

Interested candidates for Illinois Swimming Athlete Rep will be asked to upload the following:

  • A 30 second video introducing themself and explaining why they would be a good candidate for Athlete Representative. 
  • A picture to post on Illinois Swimming social media pages 

The video, picture and application responses will be available for voters and will be used for social media promotion of elections.

Note: Athletes interested in a committee only, will not need to upload a video or picture.

 

Elections will be held electronically over the course of a week, beginning September 24th and closing October 1st, 2025 at 11:59PM

  • A voting form will be sent to athletes, coaches and linked on social media/website.

Elected Athletes will be announced Sunday October 5th, 2025 at the House of Delegates Meeting. More info to come.

  • Elected Athlete Representatives will also be announced via Illinois swimming social media
  • Athletes that applied to the Athlete Representative position, but not elected to Athlete Rep will receive information of the possibility of serving in a committee position via email

AGAIN THIS YEAR: Club Athlete Delegates and athletes running for Illinois Swimming Athlete Rep will be invited to the Ambassador Camp scheduled for Saturday October 4th.

NOTE: Applicants must be at least a sophomore or at least 16 years to apply for this position. Voters must be at least 13 years, in addition all applicants/voters must be an athlete member in good standing, currently competing (or competed the last 2 years) and have permanent residence in IL. Elections will be for a 2 year term (1 year as Junior Rep, 1 year as Senior Rep).
